This short family hike is educational, exciting and fun, with several outdoor recreational opportunities to offer. Accessible to prams and strollers, this hiking trail on the Plose has magnificent views of the western Dolomites, particularly the striking Peitlerkofel and rocky peaks of the Geisler Group.
The WoodyWalk starts at the top station of the Plose gondola lift and follows a wide, stroller-friendly route (trails no. 17 and 17A) through alpine meadows towards the lodge Rossalm—around 5 km long with just 100 metres of elevation gain. Along the way, the walk quickly turns into a small adventure: a giant slide, climbing tree, Kneipp water station, “don’t-touch-the-ground” trail, marble runs and many more play stations keep everyone moving—paired with big views of the UNESCO-listed Dolomites. You can return the same way or take the alternative forest road no. 14. Handy tip: fountains along the route allow you to refill water bottles.
