Meet Merlin the Marmot and find out what life in the mountains is like for our furry friend and his family.
The adventure trail takes you past the farmed Moarhofalm until shortly before the upper Grünbachalm uphill on the forest road and the last section on the well-marked hiking trail to Grünbachsee.
Except for a few possible shortcuts, the same way back.

A fun hike for the whole family, with tobogganing opportunities in winter at your own risk.

Overview
For the hike, you’ll need sturdy hiking boots with good traction and weather-appropriate clothing. For families with small children, the trail to the Moarhofalm is also accessible with a stroller.
With a little luck, you can spot numerous marmots in their natural habitat along the Marmot Trail. It’s especially worth taking a break at Grünbachsee Lake to enjoy the magnificent view of the Pfunderer mountains.
The hike is easily accessible by public transportation. During the summer season, the hiking bus (Line 426) runs from St. Sigmund/San Sigismondo, Ehrenburg/Casteldarne, Kiens/Chienes, and Hofern/Corti to the Gelenke parking lot, the starting point of the hike. In addition, the village bus line 423 runs between Ehrenburg/Casteldarne, Kiens/Chienes, and Hofern/Corti to Sonnenstraße. Further bus connections are available via lines 423 and 421, which connect Vintl/Vandoies, Terenten/Terento, Hofern/Corti, Pfalzen/Falzes, and Bruneck/Brunico. This makes the starting point easily and environmentally friendly to reach.
