From the paid parking lot above the mountain restaurant Mudler (1622 m, refreshments available) in Tesido, follow trail marker no. 38 A slightly uphill through the forest to the Taistner Alm (2012 m, refreshments available). From there, continue on the wide trail no. 38 uphill for a stretch, then turn right on a marked route along the ridge and grassy slopes and climb eastwards to the rocky ridge of the summit, and from there on a moderately steep trail, partly exposed but without significant difficulty, to the Rudlhorn (2448 m).
Descent: from the Rudlhorn you can also descend down a steep, stony slope to the ridge depression between the Rudlhorn and the Eisatz (2388 m) and follow the marked trail through grassy areas to the Taistner Vorderalm (2012 m, refreshments available). Along trail no. 38 A you return to the starting point.
