A wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and the Schlinig valley, which makes every mountaineer's heart, beat faster.
From the large car park at the entrance to Schlinig, hike through the village to the cross-country skiing centre. From there you can follow the wide hiking trail no. 1 through the Schliniger valley. Past the black wall and the waterfall, you will reach the Sesvennahütte a short time later. This offers a place to stop for refreshments. From the Sesvennahütte, follow the well-marked trail no. 5 westwards. After a good half hour, you come to the signpost from which the Föllerkopfsteig then branches off to the left. Over a prominent hilltop, you then reach the picturesque Sesvenna Lake. The lake shines in a dark blue colour, so the sight is magical. From the lake, the trail leads up an increasingly steep scree slope. In the upper area, this then turns into a gully surrounded by striking and jagged rocks. You then reach the wide, slightly exposed west ridge that leads to the summit. Here a magnificent all-round view awaits you, so that you will by no means regret the somewhat more demanding tour.
