Start: Graun at Lake Resia.
Route: the first kilometer climbs steeply to gain elevation. After that, the trail flattens out. On varied trails and forest roads, the route continues with a moderate ascent into the valley on the southern side of the Langtauferer Valley. Short, gentle downhill sections provide regular recovery.
Finish: the idyllic valley-end village of Melag with views of the mighty glaciers of Weißkugel.
Shoes: trail running shoes with good grip (for forest and meadow trails).
Clothing: breathable running clothing. As the route is very exposed to the sun, a cap and sunglasses are mandatory. A light wind jacket should be carried in the backpack for the cooler valley end in Melag.
Nutrition: running vest or hydration belt with water and some energy (bars/gels).
Arrival: take the Vinschgau Railway to Mals, then continue with bus line 273 to the “Graun im Vinschgau, Lake” stop.
Return from the finish: as this is a point-to-point route, bus line 277 from the “Melag” stop conveniently and directly brings you back to Graun, the starting point.
From the north (D/A): via the Reschen Pass (B180/SS40) to Graun on Lake Resia.
From the south (I): via the SS38 through the Vinschgau valley and then continue on the SS40 up to Lake Resia and Graun.
