From the Gasser Hütte, follow the footpath towards the Mair in Plun hut. The trail climbs alongside the reservoir. At the signpost, keep right and follow trail no. 24. At the beginning, the path crosses a marshy meadow via a wooden boardwalk before reaching the beautifully located mountain inn “Am Rinderplatz” (1,800 m).
For the return, take forest road no. 23 heading west. It leads through the woods back to the alpine road no. 6. Turn left there and follow the downhill footpath back to the Gasser Hütte. (In winter, the route is groomed/packed.)
