The Luis Trenker path is a beautiful walk through the scenic Val Gardena valley. This path is 8 km long and leads from Ortisei to Selva.

This walk runs from Ortisei, along the old Val Gardena railway line and offers a breathtaking view of Ortisei and the surrounding mountains.

Itinerary

The starting point of the hike is the parish church in Ortisei. Follow the Luis Trenker path until you reach the hamlet of "Coi" in Soplajes. At the level of a small supermarket, turn right and follow the asphalt road that will take you to "Mulin d'Odum". Follow the path on the right side and hike back to Ortisei - passing the "Minert" farm and the public swimming pool "Mar Dolomit" until you finally reach the valley station of the Seiser Alm cable car. On the right side of the valley station, you across the bridge, which brings you back to the starting point.

This path is accessible for wheelchair users all year round.
Take care, especially in winter, on the snow- covered and slippery path.

Equipment

Comfortable shoes.
Comfortable, warm clothing suitable for outdoor temperatures.

Tip

There are no refreshment stops along the Luis Trenker path (in Ortisei). On your return journey, it's recommended to stop in one of the coffee's in town, which have barrier-free toilets.

Public transport

Accessible by the bus line 350 from Bolzano or 360 from Bressanone to the S. Antonio square.
Accessible by the bus line 172 from Castelrotto to the S. Antonio square.
Accessible by the bus line 351 from Chiusa, Laion, S. Pietro to the S. Antonio square.
The escalator leads from the S. Antonius square, to the starting point of the walk.

Possibility to park in the disable parking places at the valley station of the Seceda cable car (free of charge) or in the parking house Central (chargeable).
