Anterivo - Malga Monte Corno in Winter

Altrei/Anterivo
Pleasant winter hike from Altrei to Hornalm through snowy forests and peaceful mountain paths. An ideal destination for nature lovers looking for relaxation and alpine scenery.
from center
We start behind Hotel Waldheim and follow street nr. 3 till Paso Cisa. From here we choose the nr. E5 till Malga Corno (1710m) which is open also in the winter from tuesday to sunday.
After lunch we turn back to Anterivo the same way we came.
Attention: winter equipment like snow shoes are neccessary!
Itinerary
The hike starts in the centre of Altrei and follows prepared winter paths through forests and meadows towards Hornalm. The ascent is mostly moderate and offers beautiful views of the snowy landscape of Trudner Horn Nature Park. The return follows the same route.

Start early to enjoy the peaceful winter atmosphere.
Stop at Hornalm for traditional South Tyrolean food (check winter opening times).
Bring a camera for beautiful winter scenery.
Train to Auer/Ora.
Continue by bus to Altrei.
Check winter timetables before travelling.
Directions
Leave the A22 motorway at Neumarkt–Auer.
Continue via Montan and San Lugano Pass to Altrei.
In winter, check road conditions; snow chains may be required.
Parking
Public parking areas in the centre of Altrei.
Additional hiking parking areas may be available depending on snow conditions.
