Scenic circular hike from Lake Antholz via Steinzger Alm hut, the “2 Lakes View”, Vogelgrand and Staller Saddle.
from center

This varied and scenic circular hike leads from Lake Antholz via Steinzger Alm hut up to the spectacular “2 Lakes View” and further to Vogelgrand (2,277 m), before descending to Staller Saddle and returning to the starting point.

The tour combines everything hikers love: shaded forest sections, scenic alpine pastures and impressive high-mountain panoramas. A particular highlight is the 2 Lakes View, where both Lake Antholz and Lake Obersee can be seen at the same time.

The summit of Vogelgrand offers stunning 360° views of the Rieserferner group and the surrounding mountains. At Staller Saddle, several mountain huts invite you to take a well-deserved break.

This hike is ideal for experienced hikers looking for a varied circular tour with outstanding scenic highlights.

Itinerary

The starting point is the biathlon centre at Lake Antholz (approx. 1,650 m). From here, follow the path along the right lakeshore to the end of the lake.

From there, trail no. 7B leads steeply uphill to Steinzger Alm hut (1,894 m, serviced). Continue on the same trail to the Upper Steinzger Alm hut (2,076 m, not serviced).

Then follow trail no. 7A to the “2 Lakes View”, one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the tour, overlooking both Lake Antholz and Lake Obersee.

From here, continue the ascent to Vogelgrand (2,277 m), which rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views.

The descent leads to Staller Saddle / Lake Obersee (2,050 m), where Hexeneggele or Restaurant Obersee offer refreshment stops.

For the return, follow trail no. 11 back to Lake Antholz and then along the left lakeshore to the starting point.
