Of volcanic eruptions and ice ages in Siusi
In addition to the new geological trail in Bad Ratzes, which is recommended for experienced hikers, the history of the earth and the Dolomites can now also be explored by young and old in a leisurely village walk through Siusi. The approximately 1 km long Geomile, starting and ending at the village square in Siusi, leads through exciting events in the history of the earth, which have had a formative influence on our present landscape and life in the Dolomites.
The circular trail leads through the village in a 30-minute journey through time, allowing visitors to experience the million-year-old history of the formation of the Sciliar.
Itinerary
The starting point of the hike is the village square in Siusi, we follow the ground markings of Santnerstraße to the roundabout, continue to the Kulturhaus branching off to the left to the playground. We cross the main road in the direction of the post office, left down the Postgasse slightly to the Maria Hilf Church and back to the village square.
