Uciei de Frëines: Singing art – the birdsong’s path

Have you ever heard a black grouse sing? You now can on the “Troi de Frëines” trail. Wend your way through the woods on this pleasant walk combining art and nature.

Itinerary
The Uciei de Frëines themed trail follows the scenic "Troi de Frëines" path, which connects to the "Troi dla Schirlates". You can reach this trail from the top station of the Col Raiser cable car via trail no. 4.

Alternatively, you can access the themed trail from the Cristauta car park or directly from the valley station of the Col Raiser cable car.

Along the way you’ll find five information boards, each dedicated to a different bird species native to Val Gardena. Each board comes with a handcrafted, wooden sculpture carved by Thomas Delazer, one of Val Gardena’s master sculptors. The boards display interesting facts about each species’ habits, lifestyle, and characteristics.
You can hear the bird’s calls by scanning the board’s QR code, making the experience even more engaging.

Overview
This route does not present any particular safety risks.
Good sports shoes and rain protection are recommended for walking. A drink, snack and sunscreen should be carried in the backpack.
Scan the QR code to hear the bird’s calls, making the experience even more engaging.
The valley station of the Col Raiser cable car can be reached by the free shuttle bus (8:30 - 12:00 a.m. ; every 15 minutes) from the Dosses Square. The valley station of the Col Raiser cable car is also served by the bus line 358/356 .

Directions
The starting point is the valley station of the cable car Col Raiser, which is located in the municipality of Selva Gardena, but is not far from the centre of S. Cristina. It can be reached by internal shuttle buses or by car (chargeable parking on site).

Alternatively, you can access the themed trail from the Cristauta car park. From the centre of S. Cristina, follow the signs to Plesdinaz via the Cisles street and the Plesdinaz street and turn off at the sharp right-handed bend in the hamlet of Puzé. The car park is served by the local bus line 358. The car park is chargeable during from mid-June untill mid-September.

There are chargeable car parks at the valley station of the Col Raiser cable car.
