In Sterzing, join the Eisack riverside promenade and follow it southward to the foot of Sprechenstein Castle. A short uphill path (trail no. 24B) leads to the castle, where the Slow Food restaurant "Sprechenstein" invites you to stop for a meal. Continue on trail no. 24 to the pilgrimage site of Maria Trens in the municipality of Freienfeld. Return by public bus (line 310) or from Freienfeld train station.
