All Törggele Events in South Tyrol

The young farmers of Tesimo/Prissiano invite you to a convivial evening with roasted chestnuts, "Suser" (grape must) and wine in the centre of Tesimo.

ATTENTION: currently, the tour is only offered in German and Italian Chestnut expert and chairman of the Vinschgau valley chestnut association Max Gögele takes you on a tour of the long history (some are up to 400 years old) and cultivation of chestnut trees in Kortsch/Corzes and Schlanders/Silando and along the Kastanienwaal irrigation channel path before roasting some “Keschtn” to wind down the day in a cozy atmosphere. Guided "Törggele" hike with guide Helena Graf, with a stop at the traditional farm "Obermoserhof" and a cosy get-together in the "Stube". Meeting point: 10.00 am Tourist Office Feldthurns, return: around 4.00 pm. Walking time: 2 - 2.5 hours, easy hike. Minimum number of participants: 2 persons, free hike for guests of member accommodation, otherwise € 10.00 per person (excl. consumption).

10.00 am: „Törggele“ Market in the courtyard of Castle Velthurns with homemade specialties from the farmers as well as official opening of the 27th Chestnut Weeks at 10.30 am. As part of the "Törggele" market, a flea market is held with everyday objects found in Feldthurns/Velturno. The education committee supports the Museum of Rural Culture project.

From 19th October to 10th November 2024, Feldthurns celebrates its autumnal cultural fruit: the chestnut. During the 27th Chestnut Weeks there is a varied program with guided tours, hikes, tastings and much more!. Discover pleasures of the chestnut from the rural cuisine and wine cellar at the period of the traditional "Törggelen". It is requested to arrive in an environmentally friendly way. During the Chestnut Festival "KESCHTNRIGGL", everything revolves around the "Tisner Kescht" (Chestnut of Tesimo). During the "KESCHTNRIGGL" period, menus in selected restaurants feature specially created chestnut dishes. The chestnut is the protagonist of numerous events during the Chestnut Festival KESCHTNRIGGL.

ONLY IN GERMAN! From the beginning of October, at the end of the grape harvest, until the beginning of the pre-Christmas season is "Törggelezeit". After leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape, guests and South Tyroleans enjoy the products of the harvest, especially chestnuts and new wine (Sußer). On this week's hike we visit the Zmailerhof. With the bus we go from the center in Schenna up to the restaurant Pichler and then hike along the Ratscheidweg to the Zmailerhof and after the cozy stop further to St. Georgen. From the starting point you can freely decide whether to return by foot or by bus. A Törggelemenü and hearty music may not be missing of course! Short hike with guided tour through the chestnut groves of the "Mair am Turm" farm in Grissiano. In front of the historic farm chestnuts are roasted and tasted. After that the hike goes back to the Schmiedlhof (tavern), where a "Marende" is served and enjoyed.
