Above all, Hermann Schönweger has a special relationship with wine. The approximately 250-year-old vine of the "Versoaln" grape variety thrives here.
Tradition has it that this vine was destroyed by the French during the pillaging of the courtyard during the Napoleonic Wars in 1809. When the farm was rebuilt in 1810, the vine began to sprout again. The base of the grapevine has a circumference of 106 cm. This formerly widespread grape varietal can now be found almost solely on old stock located on the viticultural fringes.
The house wine Vernatsch, a dark Cuvée, Rosé and Müller Thurgau are offered for sale. Tasting of farm-fresh produce in the adjoining tavern is possible.

Philosophy and Tradition
Our family business is set in the midst of the South Tyrolean Alps at an altitude of 850 m. Our name stands for tradition; we have produced essential oils and herb products for four generations. Our raw material derives from high alpine altitudes and is ethically supported by the surveillance of rangers in order to maintain the balance of pasturage. Our customers can trust our traditional knowledge, which allows us to produce pure, high-quality essential oils. The herbs cultivated derive from our own produce, according to organic, certified agriculture. In order to maintain the plants’ energy, which determines the high quality of our products, our customers can trust our handcrafted produce from harvest to filling. Our 110-year-old tradition as well as our produce and harvest according to the moon calendar allow us to do so. We are dedicated to obtaining not just quantity but also high quality-produce. Our concern is to offer our customers 100% pure and high quality essential oils and herb products that contain a high proportion of herb ingredients and agents. Satisfied and regular customers confirm our commitment to develop products that are natural and free of harmful synthetic chemicals.
Attention: The oil distillery is currently closed.

The basis of our cheeses is the milk produced twice a day by our cows. From the row milk and with a considerable expenditure of energy and of manual work we prepare genuine South Tyrolean specialties too. For example, the typical grey cheese „Graukäse“, is used to prepare some typical Tyrolean dishes, for example cheese dumplings, which taste fantastic with onion and olive oil.
Currently we offer 5 types of cheese, each one of unique and unmistakable taste. The cheeses are ripened for periods ranging from about 3 weeks to 5 months, before they can be sold.
As well as our cheeses, you will also find ricotta and butter, too, as well as fruit and natural yoghurt.
Flavor thrives here
Inspired by the abundance of aromatic fruits that grow and thrive at Hof Falkenau in South Tyrol, we have decided to process and refine natural products to a high standard ourselves. In this way, we guarantee our guests an intense flavor experience. Our range of high-quality products extends from fruit spreads and syrups to meat products, honey, and tea blends - farmhouse moments of pleasure are guaranteed.
Flavourful, juicy................. the world of fruit
Our fruit spreads and all-natural syrups are the best ambassadors for naturalness and authenticity. Using traditional recipes, we process the berries, flowers, and fruit varieties from our farm garden into fruit spreads, or alternatively, into new, innovative flavors in a bottle.
Herbal power from South Tyrol
Experience the power and energy of natural herbs. Dried flowers and leaves from our own farm are the main ingredients of our special tea blend. The optimal climate in South Tyrol gives the herbs a particularly intense flavor and their natural calming effect.
Genuine flavor from South Tyrol
You can taste the passion for tradition and quality when you savor our farmhouse bacon from our own pig farm. Characterized by the special alpine climate, the speck is refined with a secret blend of spices. In addition to our speck, you will also find the typical South Tyrolean Kaminwurzen sausages in our farm shop, optionally with game or beef, as well as our own salami, pancetta, and lardo.
The liquid gold from the mountains - honey
The variety of flowers in South Tyrol gives our honey its unique flavor. In almost untouched nature, our industrious bees collect the valuable nectar, process it into aromatic honeydew, and finally give us a natural, healthy honey that delights with its fine, sweet flavor.
The stone pine - Queen of the Alps
We also rely on the best quality for our stone pine pillows. The regional stone pine wood, with its special essential oils, has a positive effect on our bodies. The effect of the stone pine brings us into a pleasant state of relaxation and increases our general well-being. A gift from nature.

If you stroll through the forests and alpine meadows, you will not only discover the beauty of the landscape, but also the variety of herbs whose scent, colours and powers have been appreciated for centuries.
Once a week - every Friday from June to September - visitors can gain an insight into traditional herbal knowledge on a leisurely herb hike in the Pflersch Valley under expert guidance. The easy tour leads through flower-filled meadows to the Botenhof, where you can marvel at rare alpine plants. Here, high-quality organic products are created from hand-picked flowers and plant parts - with care and great attention to detail. In the manufactory, herbal expert Bernhard Auckenthaler processes the collected herbs into finely balanced tea blends, aromatic spices and natural care products. Everything is done by hand, sustainably and with respect for nature.
