The South Tyrolean Folklore Museum is the oldest of the provincial museums in South Tyrol and offers a view of social life in the past. The noble residence “Mair am Hof”, built in the 17th century, gives you the opportunity of following a striking itinerary through the refined world of local aristocracy. The stately rooms of the landed gentry and the collections of the museum are located inside the residence. Translocated original farm houses, craft workshops and cottage gardens are situated on the three hectares of the green area. A walk through the open air site takes you into the everyday world of various peasant groups of the past: from the self-sufficient farmers to rural craftsmen, cottagers and labourers.
Your partner in matters of water, gas, heating and comfort.

Our philosophy and tradition
Our family business (was established) is located in the middle of the South Tyrolean Alps near the Issinger Weiher lake.
Since 1912, Bergila has been active in the fourth generation to support physical and mental well-being. Careful attention, patience and respect are essential to capture the spirit of nature. We therefore pursue the passion of maintaining health with high quality organic products. Together with nature, for more than 100 years.
The used raw material comes from wild collection and is chopped, under the supervision of the forestry authorities, in high alpine areas. The purpose of this is to maintain the landscape and preserve the existing pastures.
We extract essential oils of the finest quality from these plants according to an old traditional method, providing them in their purest and most natural form to all those who are interested. The essential oil is gently extracted from the plant by means of steam distillation to preserve all the precious substances of the plant.
A circuit of manual harvesting in harmony with the rhythm of nature to preserve and share the living force of the plants, using water from the purest sources, using slow and careful distillation to offer only the best of nature. The first-class quality of our products is contributed not only by 100 years of experience, but also by the production and harvesting of the products in accordance with the lunar calendar according to Maria Thun. The cultivated herbs come from our own organic controlled cultivation.
We care about transparent and sustainable working processes, from loving cultivation to careful harvesting and gentle processing, respecting nature and taking care of people.
Satisfied, long-standing customers confirm our commitment to purity and naturalness.
Herb farm in Wielenberg/Montevila (Percha/Perca). We manually and lovingly grow medicinal plants and herbs for seasoning on the sunny hills around our mountain farm in Wielenberg. After a careful harvest we produce herbal teas, essential oils, natural cosmetics and herb liquors. As our farm is located far away from traffic and noise and as the production of our herbs follows strictly controlled biological guide-lines we guarantee an absolute natural purity and a very high quality of our products. Since 2010 our herb farm is housed in an imposing building made of natural logs. The massive pine logs create a magic and comfortable ambiance and recall the history of the herb farm which goes back to the young Stone Age. A fascinating world of herbs, fairy-tales and legends awaits you in our rooms. There is also an archaeological exhibit that invites you to take a trip back to its very beginnings.

Ladin Museum - Tor Castle In the very heart of the Dolomites live more than 30,000 Dolomite Ladins whose identity is characterised mainly by two important features: the uniqueness of their language, which derives from popular Latin, and the extraordinary mountain landscape at the heart of the southern Alps. It is only thanks to the physical characteristics of this landscape that the Ladin language has survived today. It is the eldest of all languages spoken in this region and is restricted by the Italian and the German cultural and linguistic areas that surround it. The way through the museum focuses on some significant aspects of the present and past lives of the Dolomite Ladins, highlighting the important influences of cross-regional events on the lives of the population and pinpointing the existing interrelations between landscape forms and lifestyles. The museum is housed in the Ciastel de Tor, a castle dating back to 1230, created as a fiefdom of the Bishops of Brixen.
The castle is available as a wedding venue for couples interested in crowning an unforgettable day and experiencing a fairytale moment in a medieval castle.
The protected hanging spruce is a very rare and botanically interesting natural monument and stands at the foot of an embankment next to the road between Hofern/Corti and Issing/Issengo near Mühlen/Molini, below the bridge over the Grünbach/rio verde.
There, a unique post spruce, also called a garland spruce, rises from the young growth. While the terminal shoot grows upright, the approx. 30 cm long side branches hang vertically and are slightly twisted downward. The tree, which is about 115 years old (in 2021), reaches a height of 25 m (1991) and has a circumference of 34 cm (1991). The hanging spruce is difficult to classify in the many columnar and hanging forms known so far. In any case, it is the narrowest spruce form ever found in South Tyrol and far beyond.
If you're looking for ice skating fun with your family or friends on your winter holiday, Bruneck and the surrounding area have many different options. For example, 2 km from Bruneck/Brunico, you can glide over the natural ice rink in Reischach/Riscone.
