Holiday house "Altes Krustnerhaus"

A year ago, we — two Munich families with many children and a growing number of grandchildren — found in the upper Passeiertal valley what we had long been looking for: a traditional house full of history. The old Krustnerhaus is located in an area that invites relaxation and sport, and offers an experience enriched by varied culture and traditional South Tyrolean cuisine. We are happy if you, like us, feel at home in this house. The house The former courthouse is one of the oldest and most interesting historical monuments in the Passeiertal valley. According to reports and historical sources, parts of the building date back to the Middle Ages; the fully preserved stone-vaulted cellars date to around 1150. The rooms above were saved from decay around 15 years ago, carefully renovated and made comfortably habitable. The bathrooms feature electric underfloor heating, while the old masonry stoves in the living rooms and bedrooms are heated by electric heating elements. A modern wood-burning stove in the open-plan living area provides a cosy atmosphere. Many original historical details are still preserved, and we kindly ask guests to treat the house with respect for its heritage. Caution is also advised (especially with small children upstairs), as stairs and low doorways do not meet modern standards. A South Tyrolean folklorist has lovingly and knowledgeably converted this rare historical building into a holiday home, where guests can now take a break from everyday life, away from stress and noise. Welcome Everyone is warmly welcome in our house. It is very spacious, with around 300 m² of living and usable space. Across 2.5 floors it comfortably accommodates up to 12 people in 5 bedrooms. It is suitable for 1, 2 or 3 families, couples or groups. No parties No events House rules Interaction with guests At the neighbouring Krustnerhof farm, a friendly farming family lives who will welcome you on arrival, show you around the house and answer any questions. You can also buy fresh eggs or freshly milked milk directly from the farm. Nearby activities The house is located near the Texel Group Nature Park and is an ideal starting point for numerous hiking and mountain biking tours. About 300 m away, a Haflinger horse farm offers riding lessons and excursions. A small inn serving excellent South Tyrolean cuisine is just 2 minutes away and open during the summer months. In winter, the Pfelders ski area is about 10 minutes away by car. Many ski tourers appreciate the area for routes of all difficulty levels. There are also several toboggan runs nearby (2 km). The house is accessible year-round by car. Occasionally in winter, snow chains may be required. The spa town of Meran, with its famous thermal baths, is about 40 minutes away by car.
