As one of the oldest family-run wineries in South Tyrol, we have produced a broad wine assortment since 1309. Indeed, our wine selection ranges from young and light ones to elegant and mature –top quality wines. The three varieties – Classic, Höfe and Meister – offer the ideal wine for every taste and occasion. Wine retail: From Monday to Saturday from 9 am to noon and from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Our cuisine is known for combining the technique of traditional cooking with the flavours of local ingredients. We are known for our meat cooked in a Catalan oven using charcoal. The authenticity of our game is on everyone's lips. The faithful sense of belonging to the land is expressed in every form in the numerous culinary proposals available to our guests. The charm of the location also helps to enhance the organoleptic characteristics of the dishes, embracing diners in warmth and authenticity.

Situated directly along the Alto Adige Wine Road, Cantina Kaltern's wine center provides a welcoming ambiance for exploring and acquiring products from Cantina Kaltern, Cantina Erste+Neue, and Tenuta Baron Di Pauli. Particularly noteworthy is the winelounge, which extends openly over a terrace landscape above the sales area, beckoning guests to immerse themselves in the experience. Alongside wines, the winecenter also offers a selection of high-quality delicacies from Alto Adige and wine accessories.

Kettmeir winery has been producing top quality wines and sparkling wines since 1919. Its beautiful building, built in the typical architectural style of the area (named Überetscher Baustil), belongs to the most renowned of the South Tyrolean wine world. Guided visits upon request.

The Bistro at the Vineria Castel Sallegg is proud of its excellent Mediterranean cuisine. At midday, our abbreviated bill of fare features cold and hot dishes. In the afternoon, you can choose tapas as an appetizer. On Thursday, the Vineria has extended opening hours for the sale of wine – for relaxing evenings with a splendid view of Kaltern.

In our House, food is culture, knowledge, and sharing. From morning to evening, we always serve something delicious in our restaurants, spaces where the joy of dining together is celebrated every day. Under the guidance of Chef Simone Cantafio, East and West meet in a burst of colors and flavors. The family-run wine producing business processes only grapes of their own production. The vineyards are situated in the best producing areas of Caldaro/Kaltern and have been carefully cultivated by the Seppi family for five generations. The 357 opens in 2016 from an intuition of the starred chef Andrea Fenoglio who accounts for the high standard of the food on display. In 2020 the 357 was awarded best pizzeria of the whole South Tyrol by the illustrious Falstaff magazine. It’s a down-to-Earth welcoming place 3 minutes from the city centre where you can taste a good pizza prepared with a long leavening dough, filled with ingredients of the highest quality, or again tempting starters, rich salads and other courses, besides the ice cream made straight away and other genuine desserts. Furthermore, there is a wide offer of wines at the glass, many of them organic, the List of 100 wines, home-brewed craft beer on tap and a choice of spirits from all over the world. The wine bar Weinschmiede arises from the desire of Arthur Rainer, wine producer at Seeperle and Robert Sinn, wine producer at St. Quirinus, to bring their wines to Kaltern’s village centre. The focus is placed on their own production. However, wine lovers will also find a fine selection of other wines to be purchased or tasted together with small appetizers.

The chef of our restaurant in Chienes/Kiens artfully reinterprets the Alpine culinary tradition by drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean and international cuisines. Our guesthouse is a family business and is situated 5 minutes away from the Lake of Kaltern. On our garden-terrace you can enjoy traditional, local dishes and taste our high quality wines. We are also a strategic starting point for walking-tours.

We don't serve gourmet cuisine because we love the authenticity of local flavors. We offer typical Ladin and Italian dishes that reflect tradition. We serve smiles and warmth. In our restaurant at Passo Campolongo, you'll find delicious dishes of local venison with polenta, spinach casunziei with melted butter and smoked ricotta, Spätzle in all varieties, hearty barley soup with tirtle, and tasty dumplings made according to tradition. Additionally, you can choose from a selection of other Italian and international delicacies, all thoughtfully curated in a weekly menu for your stay. And as for breakfast, they say it's the best meal of the day!
