We don't serve gourmet cuisine because we love the authenticity of local flavors. We offer typical Ladin and Italian dishes that reflect tradition. We serve smiles and warmth. In our restaurant at Passo Campolongo, you'll find delicious dishes of local venison with polenta, spinach casunziei with melted butter and smoked ricotta, Spätzle in all varieties, hearty barley soup with tirtle, and tasty dumplings made according to tradition. Additionally, you can choose from a selection of other Italian and international delicacies, all thoughtfully curated in a weekly menu for your stay. The Bistro at the Vineria Castel Sallegg is proud of its excellent Mediterranean cuisine. At midday, our abbreviated bill of fare features cold and hot dishes. In the afternoon, you can choose tapas as an appetizer. On Thursday, the Vineria has extended opening hours for the sale of wine – for relaxing evenings with a splendid view of Kaltern.

The artists and pioneers of Jugendstil were visionaries and advocates of a new way of life when the Holzner was founded in 1908. Like them, we believe in the good and fight for the best. Thus, the 1908 bears its name for a good eason: it is new in the old; a place of freedom, curiosity and joie de vivre.

Klaus Lentsch, scion of an old-established South Tyrolean winemaking family, decided to take a new path in 2008 and has been producing typical wines for the region ever since. Bachgart, Fuchslahn and Eichberg are the historical vineyards he can call his own. Discover the variety of tastes of the cru wines from the Eisack valley, the fresh white wines from the Überetsch and the strong reds from the porphyry slopes in the lowlands. Thanks to the most modern cellar technology, the mechanical processing can be carried out as gently as possible. Gentle pressing of the grapes and the subsequent gentle fermentation process transform the grapes from must into young wine. With muse and above all time during the ripening in the cellar, the harmonious wines of Klaus Lentsch are created in inox and wooden barrels.
