All products from the monastery’s own estates are available for tasting in the monastery cellar, including the Novacella wines, brandies, apple juice, elderflower cordial and the Novacella herbal infusions. We also offer typical Tyrolean snacks of speck (cured ham), smoked sausages (Kaminwurzen) and various cheeses with a choice of tasty South Tyrolean bread varieties. Coffee and various cakes and pastries are also available, such as apple strudel, buckwheat gateau and fruit flan.

The building was registered in the late 19th century as "house with courtyard and tavern". The restaurant business has always characterised the historic building which as early as 1786 proposed itself as an inn and retailer of traditional South Tyrolean cuisine. We can say that Casa al Torchio is the oldest restaurant in Bolzano. The restaurant offers today typical South Tyrolean cuisine and Italian gastronomic specialties created by the owners Ivan and Willy Waldner. Each dish is expertly structured to respect tradition with a touch of creativity and imagination. The restaurant has a capacity of about 90 seats, divided into 3 characteristic rooms on the 1st floor and 50 seats on the 2nd floor. In addition to lunch and dinner, you can also enjoy a good pizza. A selection of wines from the best local and national wineries and a selection of craft beers can accompany your dishes.

A small family business in Pianizza di Sotto district of Caldaro. The grapes from the estate's own vineyards are lovingly and professionally processed into high-quality wines. In order to reflect the characteristics of the individual varieties from the sun-drenched vineyards in the bottle, great importance is attached to sustainable cultivation in the vineyard and gentle processing in the cellar.

Our cuisine relies heavily on traditional Tyrolean meals, whilst at the same time paying special attention to a modern interpretation with a hint of Mediterranean taste. Next to our regional dishes we also offer a wide range of culinary specialties from the grill such as our famous spareribs or our tender steaks, which can be enjoyed in a laid-back atmosphere that is characterized by plain elegance and coziness. The miil restaurant in Tscherms is an old mill that was converted into a premium restaurant. Othmar Raich and his staff at the Kränzelhof wine estate are always on the lookout for new ideas, and their menu changes seasonally.

Our wine estate is located only a few steps from Lake Kaltern. The particularly quiet position also includes a nice view on the Leuchtenburg ruin as well as a beautiful surrounding panorama. For the first time the 2017 vintage has been laid in in the newly built wine cellar, where modern cellar techniques meet 700 years old stone vaults. Retail sale. The estate tavern with the panoramic view from its large terrace is worth a trip. Enjoy the wide range of Elena Walch wines while gazing at the scenic view of Lake Caldaro. The wines can be accompanied by cold regional delicacies – chosen specialties from Alto Adige to pair with your wine choice. After a guided vineyard tour, it is the ideal place to experience, in a glass, the vineyards you just visited. Open from April to November, 11.00 am – 6.30 pm, closed Tuesday.

Klaus Lentsch, scion of an old-established South Tyrolean winemaking family, decided to take a new path in 2008 and has been producing typical wines for the region ever since. Bachgart, Fuchslahn and Eichberg are the historical vineyards he can call his own. Discover the variety of tastes of the cru wines from the Eisack valley, the fresh white wines from the Überetsch and the strong reds from the porphyry slopes in the lowlands. Thanks to the most modern cellar technology, the mechanical processing can be carried out as gently as possible. Gentle pressing of the grapes and the subsequent gentle fermentation process transform the grapes from must into young wine. With muse and above all time during the ripening in the cellar, the harmonious wines of Klaus Lentsch are created in inox and wooden barrels.

With 224 members and 350 hectares of cultivation area in Gries, San Maurizio, Settequerce, S. Giorgio, Cologna, Santa Maddalena, Coste, S. Giustina, and Renon: the great strengths of the Bolzano Winery is its diversity. So in the higher locations that range up to 1,000 meters, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer dominate, while at the medium elevations, it is Schiava. Further down, Cabernet and Merlot are planted, with Lagrein in the valley areas. The wines are made in the winery building with its futuristic appearance.

In narrowest terms, the Bolzano Winery is relatively young. It was launched in 2001 but is actually the result of a merger between the much older, established Bolzano wineries of Gries and Santa Maddalena. For that reason, tradition holds a major emphasis from the members, as does managing their often steep vineyards in a sustainable manner that is close to nature. “Working the soils and grapevines in a gentle manner is an important matter to our winegrowers,” says President Philipp Plattner.

In the meantime, the caution and prudence does not stop in the vineyard, but continues on in the winery. It is the first one in all of Italy to have been awarded the “KlimaHaus Wine” quality seal for energy efficiency and sustainability. Even in the winery, the focus is on slowing things down. That is where winemaker Stephan Filippi wields the baton and explains, “Because the processing takes place according to the principle of gravitation, the grapes are transformed in the most gentle way.” The result is unique, unmistakable quality wines. And great variety which in and of itself is worth a closer look.

The Luggin family has set up an interesting farm inn at St. Nikolaus near Kaltern, a local place of pilgrimage. You can reach the rustic cellar via the farm shop with its numerous farm products and enjoy South Tyrolean farm dishes with a glass of wine, fruit juice or spirits from the farm's own organic distillery. Open from mid-March to start of December from Wednesday to Saturday after 5.00 p.m. Booking recommended.
