Klaus Lentsch, scion of an old-established South Tyrolean winemaking family, decided to take a new path in 2008 and has been producing typical wines for the region ever since. Bachgart, Fuchslahn and Eichberg are the historical vineyards he can call his own. Discover the variety of tastes of the cru wines from the Eisack valley, the fresh white wines from the Überetsch and the strong reds from the porphyry slopes in the lowlands. Thanks to the most modern cellar technology, the mechanical processing can be carried out as gently as possible. Gentle pressing of the grapes and the subsequent gentle fermentation process transform the grapes from must into young wine. With muse and above all time during the ripening in the cellar, the harmonious wines of Klaus Lentsch are created in inox and wooden barrels.

It's no longer a secret that Sicilian anchovies pair best with a mineral Verdicchio and that our South Tyrolean speck calls for a cool Vernatsch. The Vineyard Befehlhof is located in the village Vetzan, wich looks back on a long tradition.

In the modern Vinothek in the main building of the winery, wine lovers, winegrowers and visitors alike should feel at home, enjoying a good glass of wine at the bar, but also being able to taste various wines. The focal point of the vinotheque is the elliptical bar counter. It symbolizes a large oak barrel and connects the cosy bar area with the tasting area.

Enjoy carefully selected wines from the Kaltern winery in the historic town center. The successful fusion of history and modern accents gives the vinotheque a relaxed atmosphere in which to let your mind wander and your soul dangle.

The H. Lentsch Winery is nestled between mountains and orchards bordered by olive trees and ancient cypresses in the sunny south of South Tyrol. About half of the 20 hectares of the old estate are vineyards which thrive in optimal conditions thanks to their location on a large alluvial cone. Here, porous porphyry soil, which stores heat during the day and releases it again at night, and natural ice holes, create a unique, natural microclimate. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and the classic Lagrein find ideal growing conditions on the warm, sandy and stony soils. In harmony with the natural conditions, the vines have been carefully and laboriously tended and cultivated by hand for generations. The menu at lunch changes daily and for dinner the guests are treated to a variety of plates all made with fresh and refined local products. A glass of one of the noble wines from the house cellar is not to be missed either. A nice and welcoming staff tops off the culinary experience under the arcades of the city. The bar of the Rössl Bianco has a number of spirits, cocktails and wines on display,along with exquisite coffee specialties and cool aperitifs.

As one of the oldest family-run wineries in South Tyrol, we have produced a broad wine assortment since 1309. The wine bar Weinschmiede arises from the desire of Arthur Rainer, wine producer at Seeperle and Robert Sinn, wine producer at St. Quirinus, to bring their wines to Kaltern’s village centre. The exclusive Wine & Cocktail Bar offers a wide selection of South Tyrolean wines as well as a great choice of long drinks, hand brewed beer and a variety of dishes from the South Tyrolean cuisine.

In the cozy, decorated in the old Tyrolean-style wine bar you can taste about 40 wines. On the spirit menu you can choose between a variety of grappas, fruit distillates, liqueurs, brandies and whiskeys from around the world. In addition they offer South Tyrolean specialties like bacon, smoked sausage, "Gamswürste" and a wide selection of cheeses.
