Living heritage of the Dolomites The travelling exhibition with 20 impressive panels was designed for the 50th anniversary of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. The open-air exhibition shows pictures of the impressive landscape of the nature park and the diversity of flora and fauna. The exhibition also tells of the beginnings of the mountain refuges and of the people who live and work in the nature park.

The Cultural Council of Appiano presents a new exhibition at the Laechler Gallery in Castelrotto, showcasing the works of Bolzano-based artist Marco Rauzi. The opening will take place on 27 August at 6:00 PM. The exhibition is curated by Jahel Beer within the framework of her cultural project Noi da voi, which aims to foster artistic and cultural exchange both within the province and beyond. A trained graphic designer, Rauzi explores various techniques, with a particular preference for stippling – a contemporary dot technique in which images emerge from countless small points that create tonal depth and shading. This graphic section of the exhibition highlights the artist’s precision, skill, and imagination, through works in ink, pencil, and color. In contrast, the second part of the exhibition surprises with colorful oil and acrylic paintings inspired by India. These works reflect Rauzi’s spiritual journey and convey that India is not merely folklore but a source of universal values and spirituality. The exhibition is enriched with quotations from the Bhagavad Gita, India’s ancient sacred text, and from the Book of Psalms. By intertwining Western and Eastern traditions, graphic rigor and vibrant spirituality, the exhibition invites visitors on a journey through precision, imagination, and inner depth.

The exhibition NATURAL ELEMENTS, taking place from May 31 to October 19, 2025, in Seis am Schlern, presents a selection of works by Ahrntal artist Alois Steger.

Working with multimedia, the artist, together with curator Eva von Ingram Harpf, has selected seven artworks for the village center of this Dolomite village, which integrate symbiotically into the historical setting.

Created from natural elements and materials, the works are designed to gradually change over the course of the exhibition due to weathering.

The small but fine School Museum at Tagusens shows visitors and interested people the life of the pupils between the years 1933 and 1993 and is a unique collection of furnishings and teaching documents that have been preserved on site. The school life in Tagusens did not mean an encounter with the "foreign" world for the "ABC-Shooters". The children in the lonely place knew each other, only the teacher changed year after year. Furnishings and teaching objects were less worn than elsewhere and thus remained intact. Nostalgic feelings and memories are certainly not absent here and seduce to a bygone era. The school museum is open every Wednesday and Friday from 14:00-18:00 and every Sunday from 10:00-18:00. You do not need to register for a visit.

Join us on a gentle hike through the wild and romantic Tschamin Valley – one of the most untouched gems of the Dolomites. We'll take a relaxing lunch break at the scenic “right Leger” before heading back to the Tschamin Schwaige, where a well-deserved refreshment awaits. To round off the day, we’ll visit the Nature Park Information Center at the historic Steger Sawmill. Although the old Venetian saw is currently out of service due to storm damage, the exhibition is open and well worth a visit. Discover the Infopoint Steger Sawmill! Visitors can explore a Venetian frame saw from the 16.th century as well as the former sawmaster's house. In addition to these witnesses of Alpine craftsmanship anc cultural heritage, the infopoint also features various exhibition elements. These include a sound station for bird calls, a film booth, a visitor information system about the fauna, flora and geology of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. If you hadn’t realised it before, when the first rays of sun timidly appear on the surrounding peaks you will see just how much it was worth getting up so early. A sunrise mountain tour on the Schlern mountain is a very special experience. A shuttle bus will take you to the Saltner Tschapit hut, where the ascent begins. Equipped with headlamps, you will arrive at Monte Petz (2,564 m) at around 6:50, in perfect time for the sunrise. After this natural spectacle, a well-earned breakfast awaits you at the Schlernhaus mountain refuge, also known as the “castle in the mountains”. The hay baths in Fiè allo Sciliar have been practiced since 1903. During this guided tour, we will tell you about the culture and the healing effect of the hay bath. The hay bath originated from a tradition of the farmers who took their night's lodging in the hay barn during haymaking and noticed that after a night in the hay the tiredness of the previous day was blown away. Those who spend their wellness holidays around the Alpe di Siusi can relax in the hay according to an old tradition. The medicinal herbs such as thyme, arnica, cinquefoil and gentian unfold their full effect when you sweat. The grass for the hay bath, interspersed with the many medicinal herbs, is mown exclusively on unfertilised meadows, early in the morning or late in the evening, in order to preserve all the essential essences.

Farmers' market in the centre of the village of Seis am Schlern at the O.v.Wolkenstein square. Local farmers sell their products such as vegetables, fruit, cheese, juices and many other things.
