Living heritage of the Dolomites The travelling exhibition with 20 impressive panels was designed for the 50th anniversary of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. The open-air exhibition shows pictures of the impressive landscape of the nature park and the diversity of flora and fauna. The exhibition also tells of the beginnings of the mountain refuges and of the people who live and work in the nature park.

The exhibition NATURAL ELEMENTS, taking place from May 31 to October 19, 2025, in Seis am Schlern, presents a selection of works by Ahrntal artist Alois Steger.

Working with multimedia, the artist, together with curator Eva von Ingram Harpf, has selected seven artworks for the village center of this Dolomite village, which integrate symbiotically into the historical setting.

Created from natural elements and materials, the works are designed to gradually change over the course of the exhibition due to weathering.

From our expert guide Oswald Tröbinger you will not only learn why the church and the tower were built separately, but also have the opportunity to climb the observation tower: 82 meters high, with more than 300 steps - a real flight of fancy! "Craft market APPAT" Arts and crafts The traditional craft market in Kastelruth takes place in the summer months of July and August. It takes place every Wednesday in the village square and offers a variety of traditional handicrafts and, but also artisan products such as woodwork, glasswork, leather goods and much more. There are also a number of artisans offering handmade jewelry, ceramics and other handcrafted products.

In his presentation "Magical Dolomites", Fabian Dalpiaz presents a selection of his most beautiful and magical photographs and short films that bring the magic of the Dolomites to life. He will tell you what is so special about his work and how he made it all the way to London and Florida with his photographs of the starry sky above the Dolomites. The event will be presented in German and Italian. No registration is required to attend the presentation. Admission is free. Admission is from 20:30 to 21:00. Experience the fascinating beauty of the Dolomites on a round trip with a small bus! Departure is from Völs am Schlern at 8:00 am, from Seis am Schlern at 8:10 am and from Kastelruth at 8:20 am. The route takes you from Völs to Kastelruth through the enchanting Val Gardena, over the Sella Pass and the impressive Pordoi Pass, up to the Falzarego Pass and on to Cortina d'Ampezzo. Lake Misurina awaits you there, where we take a break of about an hour. Here you have the opportunity to dine in the restaurant or enjoy some food you have brought with you while enjoying the view of the famous "Drei Zinnen". After a relaxing break, the journey continues into the Höhlenstein Valley and the historic town of Bruneck (no Stop). Arrival in Kastelruth is planned for around 17:00-17:30. The small but fine School Museum at Tagusens shows visitors and interested people the life of the pupils between the years 1933 and 1993 and is a unique collection of furnishings and teaching documents that have been preserved on site. The school life in Tagusens did not mean an encounter with the "foreign" world for the "ABC-Shooters". The children in the lonely place knew each other, only the teacher changed year after year. Furnishings and teaching objects were less worn than elsewhere and thus remained intact. Nostalgic feelings and memories are certainly not absent here and seduce to a bygone era. The school museum is open every Wednesday and Friday from 14:00-18:00 and every Sunday from 10:00-18:00. You do not need to register for a visit.

The St. Valentin church surrounded by meadows and fields, with the Schlern massif in the background, the small church of St. Valentin offers a real idyllic scene. The construction is of great historical and artistic value with precious frescos from the 14th and the 15th century. A peculiarity (among others): the painter has tried to include the local landscape as background in its representation of the three Kings. Together with hiking guide Paula we make our way to St. Valentin church (walk approx. 20 minutes). This is followed by a guided tour of the church and then back to Seis. The guided via ferrata tour on the small Cir peak is a unique experience for beginners aged 10 and up. On the tour you climb over some of the most impressive rock formations in the region and overcome some short but challenging passages. Helmut Kostner explains how to climb and shows you how to get safely over the rock faces. You will also receive valuable tips on equipment and safety. Throughout the day, the mountain guide will ensure that you are safe and protected on the way.
