The South Tyrolean ensemble Cinquino brings together five outstanding brass musicians – including members of the Haydn Orchestra – forming a quintet that impresses with passion, virtuosity, and stylistic diversity. Stepping away from mainstream trends, Cinquino presents a refined program ranging from early music to modern arrangements, with the aim of rediscovering the beauty of brass chamber music. A concert full of powerful sound, precision, and musical depth!

Together with the Ladin language and craftsmanship, the local folk costume is at the very heart of Val Gardena culture. Its lavish decorations make it one of the most beautiful costumes in the Alps. The costume is particularly important as it identifies the social status of the person wearing it. The traditional costume parade starts at the community square of St. Christina and leads to the Center Iman. Where afterwards the Gardena traditional costume will be explained.

Discover a wide selection of sports gear and traditional items, and soak up the relaxed atmosphere during our special summer evenings. On three Wednesdays – 30 July, 6 August, and 13 August 2025 – shops in Selva di Val Gardena will stay open late, from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM. To mark the occasion, the Meisules Str. will be closed to traffic, creating a pleasant setting for strolling and shopping under the stars.

Everyone is warmly invited to an afternoon full of fun and excitement at the Nives Meadow and the Selva Town Hall Square. From start to finish, you can expect many fantastic street performances by artists and of course, also this year, the VKE Game Bus will be joining us once again, bringing along great games for the various gaming stations.

On the first weekend of August, the traditional Val Gardena costume parade takes place. The five local brass bands, the traditional costume association, and various folk dance groups participate in the event. After the parade through the center of Selva, a grand concert by the brass band takes place in the town square. Food and drinks are provided by the local community association of Selva di Val Gardena. The traditional costume parade starts at 3:00 PM above the town square and follows Nives Street to the intersection at Hotel Krone. From there, it continues along the main road, passing Nives Square, and returns to the town square.

On Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, the celebrated ensemble La florida Capella will perform at the Parish Church of Selva di Val Gardena with a concert titled “Imperial Virtuosi.” Led by the renowned organist and harpsichordist Marian Polin, the ensemble will present a captivating selection of sacred and secular music from the 16th to 18th centuries. With a special focus on the rich musical traditions of Baroque Italy and the Habsburg Empire, the program promises a vibrant and historically informed performance using original instruments. Join us for an evening of majestic sounds and timeless artistry in the stunning setting of Selva’s parish church. The folk dance group “Grupa Balarins de Gherdëina Urtijëi” was founded in 1963 and has been active without interruption since then. The group dances traditional folk dances based on a long tradition thereunder typical dances for thanksgiving, dances having the intent to attract the other gender and also typical “Schuhplattler”. The “Schuhplattler” dances are demonstrated by male dancers only. All dancers are wearing the “Grödner-Tracht” (traditional costume) which is known as one of the most beautiful and most precious of the alpine area. Due to numerous performances in our country as well as abroad and on TV, the group is very well known far beyond South Tyrol.

Bozen Brass is an extraordinary brass sextet which does not fit into any traditional patterns. They six musicians from South Tyrol are curiously different and always ready for a surprise. Benjamin Premstaller (french horn), Martin Psaier (trombone), Robert Neumair (trumpet, other instruments and all arrangements), Michael Engl (tuba), Manuel Goller (trumpet) and Anton Ludwig Wilhalm (trumpet) are the members of Bozen Brass and they are ready to take off to new dimensions. Solid musical education in national and international universities combined with practice in international orchestras and ensembles form the basis for their activities. They are a labour of love for music and enthusiastic musicians and they are keen to pass these virtues to their music pupils. That is why they are able to produce the finest sounds with their brass instruments. The audience is invited to follow them on a powerful journey through the musical history covering all kinds of musical styles.

Team that boasts the highest number of appearances in Serie A, one of the oldest Italian ice hockey clubs and now plays in the International Alps Hockey League, AHL.

Formed in 2002 in Padua by four friends united by a shared passion for Vasco Rossi’s music, Vasco Tribute has become one of Italy’s most respected tribute acts. The Ferragosto celebration in Selva di Val Gardena is organized by various associations. During the event, visitors can enjoy traditional food and drinks while they delight in the musical entertainment provided by various bands and musical groups. A festive occasion for everyone!

Every year in Italy, the feast of Ferragosto, is celebrated on the 15th of August. The holiday refers to the Assumption of Mary into heaven and marks the hottest day of summer and is thus also considered the „turning point of summer “. The feast day begins with a High Mass at 09.00 a.m. in the parish church of Ortisei, during which the traditional consecration of medicinal herbs and flowers takes place. After the Holy Mass there is a folkloristic procession in the pedestrian area of Ortisei. The day will be musically framed by the alpine horns „Ladinia“ at 10.00 a.m. along the pedestrian area. At 9.30 p.m. there will be the concert with the "Merano Pop Symphony Orchestra" in the town centre.

The Merano Pop Symphony Orchestra presents an extraordinary evening that merges the power of symphonic music with the timeless melodies of international rock and pop. On an exciting journey through the decades, the orchestra breathes new life into masterpieces by Phil Collins (Genesis), Queen, Toto, Aerosmith, and Coldplay, transforming each piece into a unique orchestral experience. The traditional parade of the associations of Selva Val Gardena is a colorful celebration that honors Alpine traditions. Participants wear traditional costumes and perform dances and typical music along the streets of Selva. It's an occasion to celebrate cultural heritage and experience the hospitality of the region.

--Jita sal Hartl-- An insider tip is the hike to the Alpe Hartl on Alpe di Siusi: it impresses with a unique and untouched cultural landscape and a fantastic postcard view of the Sassolungo Group. The start is at the S. Cristina Tourist Office, from where you hike via "Triech" down to "Soplajes". Now the trail goes uphill to the district of "Tlesura" and past old, picturesque farms to the Alpe Hartl. Silence reigns here, so that you can enjoy the Dolomite landscape and the alpine blossom in all peace and tranquility.
