    In the Dolomites you can find a true cross-country skiing Eldorado: The Dolomiti Nordicski network includes a network of 1,300 kilometers of trails - this is the largest network of cross-country trails in Europe! With the cross-border ticket you can even go to East Tyrol on your cross-country skis. All you have to do is choose which of the varied, daily groomed trails you would like to use to explore the breathtaking landscape of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site: Should it be a panoramic circular route, a challenging high-altitude trail or do you prefer a leisurely route on the alpine pastures with hut enjoyment?

    This route is an easy route for beginners around the picturesque Lake of Toblach/Dobbiaco.

    The Lake of Dobbiaco is a natural alpine lake located at the border of the two nature parks Drei Zinnen and Fanes-Sennes-Prags at an altitude of 1250m. Inflow and outflow is the river Rienz/Rienza.

    The 50 km long cross-country ski track leads from Monguelfo over snow-covered fields, through romantic snow-covered forests, past picturesque farmhouses and inns to the head of the valley in Santa Maddalena – Val Casies Valley and back to Tesido and Monguelfo. Different starting points along the cross country ski track.

    The Palusc track is the perfect choice for hobby cross-country skiers. The beautiful track leads gently up and down until reaching the sunny Palusc meadow. Due to unusually mild temperatures, were called for closed the Palusc variant trail and the trail from "Palusc" to "la Buja".

    The Saltria - Monte Pana link trail is reserved exclusively for experienced cross-country skiers. 

    It begins on a descent through vast Alpine meadows, leading shortly afterwards through the woods and along narrow riverside trail, in a constant slope to Monte Pana. The trail features numerous twists and turns and the utmost of caution is advised on one particularly exposed stretch.

    This track connecting Monte Pana to Saltria at Seiser Alm runs through the Iender Valley and is suitable for experienced cross-country skiers only. By reaching Seiser Alm you can run on up to 50 km of tracks. For less experienced skiers there is also a bus connection between Monte Pana and Saltria.

    The Waldheim - Moos circular trail is the perfect route for all beginners. Not only do you have a beautiful view of the Sexten Sundial, but also of the Helm Mountain.


    This trail is open and lighted on Mondays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

    The Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco is the ideal setting for beginners, but also an ideal starting point for various cross-country routes.

    The cross-country skiing track at the Passo delle Erbe, at over 2.000 hm, expand through the snow-covered mountain pastures of the Puez-Geisler Nature Park in front of the mountain Pütia, where the fresh air seems to glisten and the soothing tranquility of the winter dominates the Dolomites. The daily prepared track is ideal for cross-country skiing enthusiasts, who will find ideal skiing conditions as well as breath-taking surroundings and inviting mountain inns offering mouth-watering delicacies.

    Setting out from Ritsch, this varied loop-route leads north over the Große Moos and through vast Alpine meadows towards the cable car for Ortisei/St. Ulrich, with the nearby Dolomite peaks of the Langkofel and the Plattkofel ever in sight. After a short uphill stretch, we head downwards through a stretch of woodland and over Alpine meadows with traditional Alpine dairy farms. In Hartl, you come to a curve in the trail and ski on, slightly uphill, along the slope through the vast Alpine meadows. There is a steep uphill stretch just before the trail meets the Möser trail, followed by easy, undulating terrain back to the set-off point in Ritsch.

    The cross country skiing centre- zënter de paslunch Alta Badia is situated in Sciaré/Armentarola, 3 km from San Cassiano. The trails stretch for about 26 km across meadows and forests at the foot of the Conturines, Lavarella and Settsass mountain range. At the starting point of the trail you will find a service centre with ski school, ski rental, toilets, changing rooms, bar and restaurant with hot food throughout.
    The cross-country ski trail is suitable for both classic and skating and, in addition to the yellow marked practice trail, offers eight routes of varying difficulty: Sas Dlacia, Sciaré, Pinais, Pre de Costa, Störes and Conturines. The last two are intended as racing or training tracks.

    In case of insufficient snow conditions, about 4 km of trail are artificially snowed.

    The trail links the Cross-Country Centre in Ritsch with Saltria. The Ritsch-Saltria link trail takes you straight downhill towards Saltria through wide Alpine meadows, and is classed as one of the most challenging cross-country trails on the Seiser Alm. In spring the trail may be partially iced over, so the utmost of caution is recommended.

    The 1, 2 and 3-km cross-country ski tracks (signposted in blue and green) are located in the first flat section and are ideal and highly recommended for beginners. The 5-km training track is suitable for experienced cross-country skiers (signposted in red); it is also certified for national cross-country races. For a longer cross-country tour (signposted in black), it’s possible to cross the entire valley in a 10-km long circuit whilst enjoying views of a fantastic mountain landscape, the Stevia and the Chedul Group, as far as the “Pra da Ri” meadow.
    The cross-country school and ski rental are at the beginning of the slopes.
