Discovery hike in winter

Deutschnofen/Nova Ponente, Dolomites Region Eggental

This guided winter hike with a natural history background and magnificent views of the surrounding mountains is held in German and Italian.

Our leisurely circular hike starts at Gibitzplatz in Deutschnofen. From there, we follow the old Kirchsteig trail to the idyllically situated Wölflhof farm, where we plan to stop for lunch.

Along the way, the hiking guide will point out the special features of winter nature. What strategies do plants and animals use to survive the cold season? Perhaps we will even discover traces of wild animals? Experiencing the winter silence of nature is a special treat for body and soul. Again and again we enjoy impressive views of the surrounding peaks - the Corno Bianco, the Latemar and the Catinaccio, which are part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a lunch break, we return along the E5 European long-distance hiking trail back to Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen.

    By public bus:
    - 181 from Bolzano, Petersberg, Weißenstein
    - 184 from Obereggen, Eggen
    - 182 with transfer to 181 from Steinegg, Gummer
    - 180 with transfer to 181 from Val di Fassa, Welschnofen, Carezza, Passo di Costalunga
