The Haydn Foundation presents its 2026/27 season with 30 symphonic concerts in Bolzano, 4 opera productions and the traditional New Year's Concert — all shaped by the guiding idea of discovering together.
The symphonic repertoire spans from the 18th century to the present day, placing canonical composers — from Haydn and Mozart to Brahms, Bruckner and Schönberg — alongside rarely performed works and contemporary pieces, including a new commission from South Tyrolean composer Gerd Hermann Ortler and an Italian premiere by Christian Mason. Principal conductor Alessandro Bonato is joined on the podium by internationally renowned names: Michele Mariotti, Ivor Bolton, Ingo Metzmacher, Christophe Rousset and Robert Trevino, with soloists including Andrea Götsch, Anneleen Lenaerts, Giuseppe Gibboni and Francesca Dego.
The opera season places tradition and the contemporary side by side: Mozart's La clemenza di Tito and Puccini's La bohème appear alongside two new works — Anna A. by Silvia Colasanti and Cronaca di un amore. Callas e Pasolini by Davide Tramontano. All four productions revolve around the themes of power, love and peace.
