Full-day tour: experience the former mining area of Schneeberg on an impressive guided tour of the museum, the mining gallery and ride on the mine train
The tour starts at the Schneebergbrücke bridge and offers a moderately difficult but rewarding hike through impressive mining and alpine landscapes.
Tour itinerary:
• ascent to the former Schneeberg mining area (now mountain hut and museum)
• visit of the museum
• lunch break with refreshment option at the Schneeberghütte hut (not included in the price)
• ascent to the Schneebergscharte
• descent to the Poschhausstollen gallery
• 3.5 km ride with the mine train
• 2.5 km underground walk through the historic Karlstollen tunnel
• descent back to the starting point
Return: arround 6:50 p.m. at the Schneebergbrücke bridge
Walking time: approx. 7 h (out and back) | Difference in altitude: approx. 1,100 m
The guided tour will be in German and Italian.
Parking facilities on site.
Good physical condition required!
Hiking clothing, hiking boots, backpack, sun and rain protection and provisions.
• The tour will only take place with a minimum of 8 participants.
• Not suitable for people with claustrophobia or a mold allergy.
