Safety in the mountains: talk with the Alpine rescue and mountain guides – ATIRA

Corvara, Dolomites Region Alta Badia

Lecture on mountain safety with the Alpine Rescue Service.

from center
ATIRA: this is an initiative that emphasises action and responsibility. The Ladin name refers to the urgent need for everyone to play their part in preserving the territory and building a more mindful and responsible future. Through activities, meetings, and opportunities for in-depth discussion, ATIRA promotes awareness and encourages the community to play an active role in protecting the Dolomites. The focus of this summer's meetings will be nature parks, mycology, and mountain rescue.

Safety in the mountains

An evening dedicated to mountain safety – in conversation with those who experience it every day.

Fabian Oberbacher, President of Aiüt Alpinisc Alta Badia and Vice President of Aiüt Alpin Dolomites, and Manuel Agreiter, mountain guide, will take the audience behind the scenes of mountain rescue and safety, sharing experiences, stories and insights from their everyday work.

Moderated by Gianpaolo Soratroi, the evening will explore some fundamental questions: How does mountain rescue work? What does a rescue operation in the mountains actually involve? How should an emergency call be made correctly, and what happens from the moment an alarm is raised? By following a rescue operation step by step, the discussion will also focus on prevention: How should you prepare before heading into the mountains? How can you move and behave safely in the mountains? And what should you do when things don't go as planned?

An opportunity to learn more about the work of those who respond to emergencies, but above all to gain greater awareness and experience the mountains in a safer and more responsible way.

An open dialogue with plenty of room for questions, curiosity and discussion with the audience.

Free entry.
In Italian.
