Workshop - Solar eclipse

The Sun is the most important star in our sky – without it, there would be no life on Earth. But what do we actually know about it? Why do sunspots form? How far away is the Sun? And why do solar eclipses sometimes occur?

In this workshop, children will become little solar researchers themselves. Through exciting experiments and interactive activities, we’ll discover the secrets of our star and prepare together for the partial solar eclipse on 12 August 2026. Each child will make their own solar eclipse glasses so they can safely observe this celestial event.

Depending on the weather and conditions, participants can look forward to additional observations or further exciting experiments relating to the Sun.
