The Pfitscherjoch-House is a Family Business, led in the 5th Generation by Family Volgger. Family Volgger and the Pfitscherjoch-House Team will make your stay at Pfitscherjoch-House an unforgettable alpine experience. Situated in the majestic Zillertaler Alps, the Beauty of the natural surroundings enchants mountaineers,bikers, nature Lovers and hikers alike. Also if you are looking for an easy tour to relax and enjoy the pleasure in lovely views the Pfitscherjoch-House is your ideal Destination! Pfitscherjoch-Hous' history is Long and eynetful. The original Pfitscherjoch-House was built in September 1888 by Alois Rainer, the great-great-grandfather of todays owner.during the two World Wars the house remained closed. In the 1960ies, during the time of the South Tirol aktivists who campaigned for South Tirols reconnection to Tirol and Austria the italian army occupied the Pfitscherjoch-House. in 1966 due to an attack the whole wooden part of the original building was destroyed, one member of the boarder control was killed. the reconstruction of the house followed in 1971, from 1977 on besides the Restaurant and bar also overnight stays were possible again. in the following years the Pfitscherjoch-House became a more and more popular alpine hut and in 1992 it was one of South Tirols first huts to become connected to the public wastewater System. Recently, in Summer of 2012 the Pfitscherjoch-House was rebulit and modernized. Today it offers his guests a lockable bike-room, a Bio-Sauna, renovated rooms with en Suite shower and toilet.
