A pleasant winter walk to relax and simply enjoy life in a quite area on Seiser Alm. This route offers a breathtaking view of the Schlern/Sciliar mountain, almost within hand’s reach from the Spitzbühl, and leads onwards over endless snow-covered alpine meadows back to the starting point.

After a short visit to the pilgrimage site of Maria Weißenstein, the trail continues to three sunny alpine huts: Schönrast, Schmieder, and Lahner. Surrounded by stunning Dolomite views, these stops invite you to rest and enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. The route is varied but manageable – perfect for nature lovers, peace seekers, and anyone who enjoys winter hiking at a relaxed pace.
Hike on old haymaking paths to the Lüsen Alps.
Before motorization an road construction, the hay harvest from the alpine pastures in winter was brought to the valley with sledges. The hike leads from the Lüsnerhof tot he left of the stream on the farm track uphill. At the edge of the forest the road through the forest goes left to the farmhouse of the Gargitthof. Below the farmhouse there is a nice resting place witha wonderful panoramic view. The way back goes from the rest area over the path tot he forest road and back to Lüsen Rungg.
This winter hike starts in Saltria and leads past the Floralpina and Tirler hotels to the refuge Berghaus Zallinger and the church of the same name, in the immediate vicinity of the Plattkofel valley basin.

The winter hike to Anratterhütte starts at the Bunker Recreation Area parking lot in Spinges. Right at the beginning, you can see an old bunker, a small historical curiosity.
From here, follow the well-prepared winter trail marked No. 9, which is regularly groomed by a snowcat. The path gently ascends through the snowy forest, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
After about 2 hours, you reach the Obereggerbach stream at 1,730 m and continue past Hinterleitneralm and Weberalm.
Another 30 minutes later, you arrive at Anratterhütte at 1,815 m, where a cozy mountain hut and delicious South Tyrolean specialties await you.

Along the way, you can enjoy views of the impressive mountain landscapes of the Dolomites, including the Rosengarten | Catinaccio and Latemar.
A lovely winter hike that goes gently but steadily uphill. Almost the entire hike passes through snowy woodland and beautiful winter landscapes, making it wonderfully peaceful and relaxing.
How is tasty mountain cheese made?
The ‘Drei Zinnen’ display dairy at Dobbiaco/Toblach and the ‘Milk Mile’ at Sesto/Sexten provide answers to questions like this. The local Alpine dairy farming world is explained along an interactive woodland trail. Interested visitors can try their hand at milking using a wooden cow and read how the various cheese types are made.
The leisurely hike leads without any significant difference in altitude from Seis, past St. Konstantin and St. Anton to Völs.
This winter hike follows the "Herrensteig" from Welschnofen | Nova Levante to Lake Carezza (Karer See | Lago di Carezza), considered one of the most magnificent alpine lakes. The lake, located at the foot of the Latemar and known for its deep green waters and the beautiful mountain backdrop, is frozen in winter and usually covered with a white blanket of snow.
From Welschnofen | Nova Levante, the path ascends with a steady, gentle incline up to Lake Carezza. Along the "Herrensteig", you are treated to beautiful views of the picturesque village of Welschnofen | Nova Levante. Upon reaching the lake, a breathtaking panorama opens up with views of the impressive mountain ranges of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio and Latemar.
Starting point is the roundabout in Völs, from where you follow up to Fiè di Sopra/Umes. Turn left at the Hotel Heubad and continue along trail no. 1. The sunny path leads past some farms until you reach the Völser Weiher lake after 45 minutes.
The thirty-minute descent along trail no. 13 to St. Konstantin/ S. Costantino, passing historic summer retreat residences along the way, is recommendable. After a short break at the picturesque church, follow the trail through the meadows and woods back to Völs. This loop-route can also be hiked in the opposite direction.
In good conditions and when there’s enough (but not too much) snow, this hike can be completed without any problems. The trail is regularly maintained using a tracked snow groomer. On the farm track along the hairpin bends are clearly-marked shortcuts, but in winter these tracks are usually inaccessible or should at least be negotiated with care.
he Waldkapelle Chapel, an emergency chapel built during the First World War for returning farmers, was used during the Second World War to hold German masses, which were banned by the fascists. The meditation path with 14 stations leads from the Parish Church in Sexten to the Waldkapelle Chapel. Along the way, the stations invite you to pause. To avoid walking back along the same trail, continue along the path and then turn right up towards Gasthof Waldruhe . From there you walk comfortably
along the asphalt road down to the Hösler Höfe farms and the last stretch along the forest path to the starting point.
The Völs am Schlern loop trail is a sunny, pleasant stroll with magnificent views over the Ritten plateau and Prösels Castle.
This relaxing winter hike starts at the parking place of Spëscia. During this hike you can enjoy the fresh air of the forest up to the Hospice Santa Croce, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the peaks of the Dolomites.
