Lappago bathed in luminous winter light at the foot of gentle Sasso Tondo.
This moderately difficult winter hike leads up to the Plätzwiese/Prato Piazza, a high plateau at 2,000 m above sea level with a breathtaking view of the Hohe Gaisel/Croda Rossa and the Cristallo.
The Vallunga is the entrance to the Naturepark Puez - Odle. It lasts a few km and it's in the middle of woods and mountains. The valley has a flair of quiteness and calmness, which you can enjoy during a walk in the valley. The via Crucis leads you directly to the direction of Juac and is represented with woodsculptures.
Tote Möser, Totes Moos, Totmoos are the various names of this moorland biotope above Acereto. A remote small plateau with a few isolated pine trees, in winter usually covered with a thick blanket of snow. Grouse area. Kofler zwischen Wänden, which means Kofler between walls, is the ideal name for a mountain farm perched in the middle of a rock ledge. Worthwhile destination, extreme location, exciting easy walk. The Knutten alpine hut is located in the Vedrette di Ries Nature Park, one of the seven nature parks in South Tyrol. From the parking lot, starts the easy hiking tour which leads on the slightly uphill forest road no. 9 for Knutten alpine hut. The hut is starting point for many hikes and ski tours. When the sun barely appears for two months in the village of Schmieden/Ferrara and hides behind the vast mountain massif of the Herrenstein peak, the farms just above the village enjoy the bright sunshine. Enjoy the extended view of the Pragsertal valley during a hike along the sunny side of the village. Starting in Schmieden/Ferrara or St. Veit/S. Vito you follow the road leading to the highest farms in the village. The Moserhof guesthouse awaits you - warm up in the cosy rooms and taste some regional specialities.

The Val Gardena rail tracks course through the whole valley on a sunny stroll across forests, meadows, villages and local sights. Choose from Roncadizza, Ortisei, S. Cristina or Selva as a starting point. The walk follows the old rail tracks of the Val Gardena locomotive built during WWI (1915-1916) by Russian prisoners. Along the old railway line from La Poza to Santa Cristina you can find the diagram of the snow that fell since 1951.
