The church of St Veit stands on the Tartscher Bühel hill. The Romanesque church from the 11th century houses frescoes inside, some of which are badly damaged. The entire west wall is filled with a cycle of paintings (fragments) dating from the 16th century. The music band Taufers i. M. invites you to the concert on 01 August 2025. On this evening, they will spoil you with good music and a fantastic atmosphere! The concert will take place at the Taufers Music Pavilion at 20:30. The Taufers i. M. band is already looking forward to seeing you!

Guided hike along the 360° circular hiking trail from the Egghof farm in Taufers i. M. to Schlinig. Ride with the hiking taxi from Mals railway station to the Egghof farm above Taufers i. M. From there via the "Tellaalm" to the "Tellajoch". The "Tellajoch" surprises with a 360° panoramic view of the mountain peaks of the Ortler and Sesvenna groups. The 360° viewing platform highlights the mountain panorama. Continue first downhill to the Laatscher and Schleiser Alm alpine pastures with insights into the Upper Venosta Valley alpine farming. From there, hike uphill to Monterodes and then back downhill over the Kälberberg to the village of Schlinig. Return journey by public bus. On 3 August 2025, the AVS - Mals branch invites you to the traditional summit mass on the "Piz Lun" (2324 m). The ascent takes place individually, at 12:00 noon the liturgy of the word will be held on the summit with musical accompaniment from the Mals men's choir. The mass will be held in German!

‘+/- Folk’ is the theme of the exhibition trilogy, which combines the three exhibition venues St. Veit Church, Bunker23 and Bunker5 into a unique cultural journey. Guided sunrise hike Travel by minibus to the Plantapatsch mountain hut (2150 m). From there we hike approx. 1.5 hours to the Watles summit (2555 m). There we will watch the sunrise. A unique view awaits us. An unforgettable, perhaps rare moment. Descent along the same route back to the Plantapatsch hut. Return journey by minibus to Burgeis. ATTENTION: this tour is only offered in German or Italian language St Nicholas' Church was consecrated in 1199. The little church is famous for its coffered ceiling from the 16th century, which depicts a jester in a washtub. The nave has a flat roof and slit windows. The semi-circular vaulted apse contains frescoes from the 13th century, including a well-preserved fresco of Christ in the mandorla. The Church of St Johann in Taufers was built around 1220. The Romanesque church building has the shape of a Greek cross. The fully painted groined vault shows Byzantine influences, and the frescoes from the late Romanesque period are also worth seeing. Every Wednesday between 8.30 am to 12.30 am, the pedestrian zone and Peter-Glückh-Platz in Mals bustle with activity. Fresh local produce, such as fruit, berries and vegetables, cheeses, bacon and bread types, jam, vinegar, juices and herbal teas, are always available for sale at the farmer's market. There are also craft and handicraft products made of stone, wood or felt for sale, as well as textiles, leather goods, plants, and equipment of all kinds for house and garden.

You’ll learn all about the valley and its inhabitants and gain an overview prehistoric and early history of the Venosta Valley, the immaterial cultural heritage of the irrigation channels, and the story of the Swabian Children and poverty in the valley. The tour is in German language!

The tour in the Vintschger Museum is an immersive experience where you get to experience the valley’s unique features. You’ll learn all about the valley and its inhabitants and gain an overview prehistoric and early history of the Venosta Valley, the immaterial cultural heritage of the irrigation channels, and the story of the Swabian Children and poverty in the valley.

A ‘borderless’ cultural and musical experience in the border triangle! The Venosta Festival event series puts culture centre stage. With various acts and performances from the border triangle of South Tyrol, Austria and Switzerland, the cultural diversity and solidarity of our regions will once again be showcased. Alpine sports enthusiasts of all kinds and lovers of the creative representation of our beautiful landscape will meet in Glorenza/Glurns on 8 August. Short films and picture exhibitions by artists from the tri-border region await you. Surrounded by the medieval town walls of Glorenza/Glurns, we will immerse ourselves together in the world of film and photography of our special nature. The advance booking price of €15 is valid up to and including 31 July. From 01 August, admission costs €20. Children up to the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
