Visit one of the oldest preserved churches in Europe. The small church of St Benedict from the 8th century AD has Carolingian wall paintings inside, which are among the oldest frescoes in Western Europe. A building from the 8th century. The Romanesque tower dates from the 12th century. The paintings and Carolingian frescoes inside are among the oldest in the entire German-speaking world. The church harbours the world's only portrait of a Frankish landlord. Guided sunrise hike Travel by minibus to the Plantapatsch mountain hut (2150 m). From there we hike approx. 1.5 hours to the Watles summit (2555 m). There we will watch the sunrise. A unique view awaits us. An unforgettable, perhaps rare moment. Descent along the same route back to the Plantapatsch hut. Return journey by minibus to Burgeis. Total walking time: approx. 3 hours Difficulty: moderate (difference in altitude: approx. 450 metres)

ATTENTION: this tour is only offered in German or Italian language St Nicholas' Church was consecrated in 1199. The little church is famous for its coffered ceiling from the 16th century, which depicts a jester in a washtub. The nave has a flat roof and slit windows. The semi-circular vaulted apse contains frescoes from the 13th century, including a well-preserved fresco of Christ in the mandorla. The musical summer evenings in Burgeis! Every Wednesday evening this summer you can once again look forward to the Burgeis concerts. Let the evening come to a cosy end by the fire station. The group The Snoops provides the right atmosphere! The Burgeis volunteer fire brigade will provide you with warm dishes and cool drinks, as well as a good atmosphere. Come and join us!

Every Wednesday between 8.30 am to 12.30 am, the pedestrian zone and Peter-Glückh-Platz in Mals bustle with activity. Fresh local produce, such as fruit, berries and vegetables, cheeses, bacon and bread types, jam, vinegar, juices and herbal teas, are always available for sale at the farmer's market. There are also craft and handicraft products made of stone, wood or felt for sale, as well as textiles, leather goods, plants, and equipment of all kinds for house and garden.

The Church of St Johann in Taufers was built around 1220. The Romanesque church building has the shape of a Greek cross. The fully painted groined vault shows Byzantine influences, and the frescoes from the late Romanesque period are also worth seeing. Guided hike in the mountaineering village of Matsch/Mazia. From the head of the Matsch valley, past unspoilt streams, and fragrant alpine meadows, finishing at mountain lake Upi. The entire west wall is filled with a cycle of paintings (fragments) dating from the 16th century. The concerts will take place on the main square in Burgeis, framed by the picturesque backdrop of the old houses of Burgeis. The Burgeis music band will also be serving drinks! The hiking taxi takes you to the Egghof farm in Taufers in the Münstertal Valley, the starting point for many great hikes, every Friday until autumn! When: every Friday from 20.06. - 26.09. Guided hike along the 360° circular hiking trail from the Egghof farm in Taufers i. M. to Schlinig. Ride with the hiking taxi from Mals railway station to the Egghof farm above Taufers i. M. From there via the "Tellaalm" to the "Tellajoch". The "Tellajoch" surprises with a 360° panoramic view of the mountain peaks of the Ortler and Sesvenna groups. The 360° viewing platform highlights the mountain panorama. Continue first downhill to the Laatscher and Schleiser Alm alpine pastures with insights into the Upper Venosta Valley alpine farming. From there, hike uphill to Monterodes and then back downhill over the Kälberberg to the village of Schlinig. Return journey by public bus. The 8 summit march - a mountain tour of a special kind! This high alpine extreme tour covers 25 km and 3,000 metres in altitude. The route leads from the picturesque, medieval town of Glurns in the valley to the mountain peaks in the Stilfserjoch National Park. At each of the 8 summits you receive a stamp, which must be stamped on the start card. Only recommended for real mountain enthusiasts. Info: R e g i s t r a t i o n Registration takes place via the online ticket sale, which is possible until 20 July 2025 at the advance booking price of € 70.00. From 21 July 2025, the ticket will cost € 80.00 (unless the number of participants of 500 has already been reached). From 24.07.2025, registration will only be possible by telephone. S t a r t The church service will take place in the Frauenkirche church at 03.30 am. From 04.00 a.m. - 05.30 a.m. the start packages will be handed out at the Glurns Festival site.
