Lechtl – A Mountain Farm Steeped in History on the Sonnenberg in the Venosta Valley  Mountain farms through the ages and the great events of world history. The Theiner family from Lechtlhof farm talks about today’s challenges and embarks on a journey into the past. Includes a tour of the farm through the rustic parlour, the centuries-old cellar with a museum, and the farm chapel with a blacksmith’s workshop. ATTENTION:currently, the tour is only offered in German and Italian After a leisurely hike along the Via Vinum Venostis wine trail accompanied by winemaker Thomas Plack, you will have the opportunity to visit the vineyard and taste four to five organic wines each where its respective variety is cultivated. At the end of the tour, the winemaker personally takes you on a tour through his cellar.

New Wines with Old Roots “New Val Venosta wines” as fine-structured mountain wines from Colsano. Thomas Plack was precisely nineteen years old when he took over the estate in Colsano at the foot of Monte Mezzodì in the Val Venosta in 1989. Today, in addition to five hectares of fruit orchards, he also manages three hectares of vineyards upon which, as Plack himself says, “new Val Venosta wines” are created. After visiting the marble world and taking a short stroll through the marble village, you will be culinary tempted during the chocolate and praline tasting.

We take the shuttle bus together to the Rebhof winery in Galsaun: Leo Forcher is considered a jack-of-all-trades in Val Venosta/Vinschgau. In addition to a tree nursery and fruit growing, he dedicates himself to his true passion: viticulture. Fertile soils on sun-favoured slopes provide ideal conditions for the growth of the vines. And intensive care forms the basis for the ripening of high-quality grapes of the classic grape varieties, which are still harvested by practised hands. (only in german and italian language)

Note: The hike is only in German and Italian. Ski tour for beginners and slightly advanced skiers accompanied by a mountain guide. Descent on skis from the mountain station Grawand to an altitude of around 2,700 meters. From this point you start the ascent in the open terrain, which, depending on the conditions, brings the group to 3,100 m (glacier terrain). After a short rest, a descent in soft powder awaits you. The prepared valley run takes you back to the starting point of the tour to Maso Corto/Kurzras. In the case of bad weather, the tour will start from Maso Corto/Kurzras. Duration of the tour approx. 5-6 hours Difference in altitude: around 500 m in ascent Number of participants: minimum 2 persons Requirements: good skier on the slopes in good physical condition

Group ascent with the Schnalstal Valley Glacier Cable Car to 3,200 metres. We’ll cross the Hochjochferner accompanied by a mountain guide, experience the glacier in all its beauty, and learn many interesting and historical things. At the end of the glacier there is an ice cave at 2,800 m. After exploring the cave and taking a rest in this solitary alpine world, the path continues to the Schöne Aussicht Refuge and afterwards we descend to the Teufelsegghütte Mountain Hut. The Roter Kofel chair lift brings us back to Maso Corto/Kurzras around 3:30 p.m. Walking time: approx. 5-6 hours including breaks Difference in altitude: around 300 m in the ascent and 1,000 m in the descent (about 8 km distance) Number of participants: minimum 2 people (participation from 14 years) Requirement: good physical condition
