On the occasion of the inauguration of the new cable car, Obereggen Latemar AG warmly invites everyone to the Tree Festival under the Latemar on June 14. The day is dedicated to sustainability, a deep connection to nature, and community spirit. The meeting point is at 10:00 AM at the Obereggen valley station. From there, the Ochsenweide cable car will take all participants up to the Golfrion area, which was heavily affected by the devastating Vaia storm in 2018. As part of this special action day, around 300 young trees will be planted – a meaningful contribution to reforestation and the creation of a climate-resilient mixed mountain forest. The reforestation area is managed by the B.N.R. Eggen self-administration, led by President Alfred Gummerer. The planting itself will be guided by the forestry experts from the Deutschnofen forest station, who will also provide the young trees. After a brief introduction, children and adults alike are invited to lend a hand and plant trees at pre-prepared spots. The Tree Festival is organized by Obereggen Latemar AG, under the leadership of President Siegfried Pichler, in close cooperation with Heinz Mahlknecht, head of the Deutschnofen forest station. Participation is FREE, and includes free round-trip rides on the Ochsenweide cable car for registered attendees. A small surprise awaits all participants!

Mindful.Latemar is the first immersive mindfulness trail in the Alps. It is located in Obereggen along the circular trail on Golfrion, at the foot of the Dolomites at an altitude of 1,872 meters. The trail features 18 different mindfulness exercises at a unique place that became a symbol of perseverance and resilience after Storm Vaia in November 2018.
