Experiences in Schenna/Scena

The Hintereggalm forms part of the Tall pastures and has been used as a summer meadow for rearing local agricultural animals for generations. The area has been popular with the many hikers that visit it from an early stage, meaning that food and drink have been available at the Hinteregger Alm hut since the 1970s.

This scenically enchanting hike over the broad alpine pastures of the Hirzer region is especially recommended during the alpine rose flowering season from late June to early July when the pastures are resplendent in shimmering red. 

This easy running route starts at the mini-golf in Schenna and runs 2.5 kilometers via the Kampflkreuz and the Schennaer Straße back to the mini-golf.

This moderately challenging running route starts in Verdins and extends for 4.5 kilometers along the Wiesersteig trail to the Hofweg and the Taser cable car, then down to the Verdinser road, returning to the starting point.

ROUTE 3 – Thermal Flight Hirzer | € 150,00 (excluding cable car ticket)
In the sport of paragliding, one of the most exciting experiences is climbing to a height giving you a bird’s eye view of the mountains. Since thermal flights require good weather and optimal wind conditions, they cannot always be guaranteed. If a thermal flight cannot take place due to unfavourable weather conditions, we offer Route 2 panorama flight as an alternative. Call us for more information.

With its four-seater chairs and protective bubbles that shield the passengers from the wind and cold, the S. Osvaldo lift guarantees a swift and cosy ride on your way to the top. This chairlift only operates in winter.

Attention: this chairlift is not accessible to pedestrians.

This easy hike along the Maiser Waal (or irrigation channel) winds pleasantly through mixed forest and orchards and is highly recommended on hot summer days thanks to its numerous shady sections.

The descent from Talle to Verdins, via Videgg and the Streitwelder Alm, lasts approx. 3 hours and is a refreshing change, especially on hot summer days. Even when the weather is changeable, this hike takes a pleasant route which mostly goes through the Verdins forests, offering protection from the elements. The ascent to Tall is made with the Verdins cable car.

This moderately challenging, partly steep running route starts at the Taser cable car valley station and extends for 3 kilometers along the Ifinger Straße and Verdinser Straße for returning to the starting point.

This easy running route starts at the tourism office Schenna and runs for 2 kilometers along the Schlossweg, Wiesenweg path and the Waldweg path.

Within a few minutes, the Hirzer aerial tram takes you 1.500 m higher, right to the heart of one of the most amazing hiking areas in the Merano disctrict. From the Klammeben top station, located almost 2.000 m above sea level, you can oversee the sunny Hirzer plateau with its network of hiking trails that meets all preferences: you may choose a lovely and relaxing walk to an alpine inn just as a demanding high alpine hiking tour to the top of the Hirzer-Cervina or one of the many other mountain peaks within range.

This easy 4-kilometer route starts at the planted flower heart in the center of Schenna and follows Mitterplattweg path to the edge of the village, then returns to the starting point along the sidewalk of Schennaer Straße.

This moderately difficult running route starts above the St. Georgen district at Vernaun Castle and runs 5 kilometers along the Schenner Waalweg and Buschenschank Salfgut back to the starting point.

This easy running route starts at St. Georgen and runs 3 kilometers via the apple orchards and the St. Georgener Straße back to St. Georgen.

The chair lift takes you from Talle to the Grube mountain station. The Hirzer high plateau situated on more than 1,800 meters offers ideal conditions for excursions and hikes of all kinds.

This moderately difficult running route starts in the center of Schenna at the tourist office and runs 7 kilometers along the Maiser Waalweg and the Mitterplattweg back to Schenna.

Our bike rental in Scena is located directly at the B&B Gurterhof. Here, anyone can rent an electric bike to explore the beautiful surroundings of Scena – even if you're not a guest of the hotel.

The location of the Hönigspitze Peak directly above the Videgger Assen and its unobstructed views down into the Merano Valley basin, over Verdines and Scena, make this mountain route a well-loved variant to the Punta Civina mountain ascent.

This chairlift runs directly to the Rifugio Kesselberg inn at 2,300 m above sea level – the ideal place for a quick stop to sit back and decide which one of the two ample slopes to explore first.

A very special mini golf course in the mountains
The wheel, the seesaw, the arc, the vertical? Have you ever heard of them? Find out what's behind it at the mini golf course in the center of Schenna/Scena. You can't miss it! A sociable change for young and old in the center of the village under trees, between flowers and rock gardens.

This simple running route starts at the Schenna mini-golf course and stretches over 3.5 kilometers along Verdinser Straße, Wiesenweg path , and Bloseggweg path.

Atmospheric hike on the Schenner Waalweg trail. This shady route winds without any noteworthy climbs along the course of the old irrigation channel and offers an exciting hike with wonderful landscapes to enjoy. 

This easy 1.5-kilometer route starts at the Schenna tourist office and follows the sidewalk along Schlossweg to Verdinser Straße, then back to the starting point.

This easy running route starts above Schenna and runs for 1,5 kilometers along the Wiesenweg path to the restaurant Thurnerhof, then returns to the starting point via the Verdinser Straße.

This moderately difficult running route starts near the valley station of the Taser cable car and runs 4,5 kilometers along the Schenner Waalweg and the orchards back to the starting point.
