Around 1903, on the highest point of "Kühbergl/Monte Spalliera", a 18 meters high observation tower was built, which allowed the Emperor Franz Joseph I to observe the artillery movements in Brunico and surroundings. This tower and the hill were named "Kaiserwarte". Later the tower became a popular scenic spot, but over the years it suffered natural damages and in 1950 it had to be removed for safety reasons. Currently a small stone column can be seen where once the tower stood.

Cross-country skiing is an alternative to skiing for many winter sports enthusiasts. Ath the foot of the Kronplatz/Plan de Corones, near the sports area in Riscone, a lovely circular trail goes through snow covered fields and meadows. The cross-country trail in Riscone is suitable for beginners as well as for advanced skiers.
There are 3 different slopes:
1. Cross country trail Reiperting - 2.2 km - easy; illuminated on tuesday, wednesday and friday until 8.30 p.m.
2. Cross country trail Reischach - 3.6 km - easy
3. Cross country trail Stefansdorf (complete round) - 5.5 km - easy
