The Sella group is the massive which divides and at the same time joins togheter four valleys: Val Gardena, Val Badia, Val di Fassa and Arabba. The Sella group is composed of two large platforms, imposing walls and towers that rise high towards the sky. Starting from one end the excursion will lead you to the other end. You will reach the highest point called Piz Boè from where you will be amazed of the view.

 

Covered with pines, the Ciampinoi mountain rises to the south of Selva Gardena sheltered by Sassolungo, a majestic peak in the Dolomites, which towers above it.

The Sassolungo summit dominates Val Gardena with its three residential areas. From the valley bottom the visitor can admire the Odle, Cir, Sella, and Sciliar peaks in the immediate surroundings, the Tofane further away in Veneto, the Ortles and Adamello groups in the west or even some distant mountains in Austria.

The ultimate fun for freeride junkies and those who want to become one. The freeride track starts directly on the top of Ciampinoi.

In winter the ski runs, which have been known since the late 1930s and hosted the 1970 Alpine Skiing World Championships, offer fantastic descents towards Selva Gardena, Santa Cristina and Plan de Gralba.

The lifts and slopes of Ciampinoi are linked to the famous Sellaronda ski circuit, which allows the skier to ski all four valleys surrounding the spectacular Sella Group.

The Vallunga is the entrance to the Naturepark Puez - Odle. It lasts a few km and it's in the middle of woods and mountains. The valley has a flair of quiteness and calmness, which you can enjoy during a walk in the valley. The Puez hut is located right in the middle of the nature parc, it's also possible to spend a night in the hut.

 

We start at the Selva skating arena and follow path no. 17A to the first station of the cross, and from there on path no. 17A over the Rifugio Juac in the direction of Rifugio Firenze (path no. 3-1) and over path no. 13 into the UNESCO World Heritage Puez-Geisler Park in the direction of Pieralongia. We then take path no. 4A which brings us to the mountain station of the Col Raiser cable car. We continue on path no. 4 to the Gamsblut hut, from there along path no. 1A to the Sangon hut, past the Lech Ciaulonch and then on path no. 3 to the Rifugio Juac, which leads back to the Selva skating arena.

The route is dedicated to all those who have won a World Cup race since 1969 or a World Championship race in 1970 in Val Gardena, as well as to who believed in the idea of skiing in Val Gardena with great ambition and pioneering spirit.

This themed trail starts in the village center of Selva, behind the Ski School. It is a journey through the history of skiing in Val Gardena, from the beginnings of Alpine skiing, to its establishment as a world-famous ski area which hosts breath-taking ski world cup races every year. In the audio guide you are accompanied by Erich Demetz, honorary citizen of Selva, pioneer and conceiver of the alpine Ski World Cup races in Val Gardena and President for 28 years of the FIS (Fédération Internationale de Ski).

Vallunga the entrance of the nature Park Puez Odle is the perfect spot for a jogging tour. Suitable also for beginners as it's quite flat until the end of the valley. For nature lovers it is the perfekt place where nobody is gonna disturb you during the morning or in the late evening.

From Plan de Gralba (accessible by ski bus) starts the path no. 653 at the feet of the Sella group. Pass at the Chalet Gerard, where you have to cross the road, and continue along path no. 653 until you arrive at the foot of Piz Culac. Return on the same way.

This route circling the Sassolungo massif is a superlative trial run. The beautiful landscape and the breathtaking views will make you forget the physical exertion. The route runs mostly on a constant elevation between approx. 2,200 m and 2,300 m, so that you experience only small changes in elevation.

Selva Gardena is located at the end of the valley surrounded by the rich flora and fauna of the Dolomites. The Unesco World Heritage peaks watch over this charming village, an excellent meeting place for families, as well as a starting point for sports and outdoor activities. There are several oppurtunities for hiking and climbing, for exciting descents in the Dolomiti Superski area, for adventurous rock and ice climbs, for mountain biking and snowshoeing. The sassolungo represents the Val Gardena and it's one of the important mountains here in the surroundings. Climbing up the forcella you will get a fantastic view of the mountains which sourrounds us. Walking up until the forcella you will appreciate the astouning view of the Sella and the Marmolada. You have a lot of possibilities to walk there around and also for climbers there are no limits.

The recently installed “Furcela de Saslonch” (ladin) - via ferrata “Forcella Sassolungo” boasts
ledges and ramps as well as some steep ascents delivering a varied climbing experience.

The Puez hut is located right in the middle of the nature parc. From the Passo Gardena/Dantercëpies you reach the Puez hut via the forcella Cir and forcella Crespëina. From here the trail descends into the Vallunga valley and back to Selva Val Gardena.
It is also possible to spend a night in the hut.

The Vallunga is the entrance to the Naturepark Puez - Odle. It lasts a few km and it's in the middle of woods and mountains. The valley has a flair of quiteness and calmness, which you can enjoy during a walk in the valley. The via Crucis leads you directly to the direction of Juac and is represented with woodsculptures.

From Selva you go up on path no. 27 to Ciampinoi, from where you then descend on path no. 21A towards the Comici hut. From there it goes through the Stone City on path no. 526 to the Sella Pass.

The unique thing about this hike is that you are accompanied by the Sassolungo along the entire route. The hike with spectacular views of the surrounding majestic Dolomite peaks is the perfect excursion for families.

FUNSLOPE SELVA – THE RAPID SNOW ADVENTURE AT THE SELLA RONDA

Prepare yourself for the new snow adventure: We race over the soundboost, carve through three steep turns, swirl through the fun twister, give the huge cushioned hand a high five while sliding over four waves and greet Slopy, the Funslope inhabitant, when we arrive on the finish line. This exciting and varied snow adventure is waiting for you in the season 2017/18 at the Sella Ronda in Selva!

During the wintertime the vallunga trasforms hisself in a Winterwonderland. The snow which covers the forest trasmits a mystic flair and you can enjoy the quitness of the valley.

Easy, flat forest trail with exercise equipment, but can also be used as a pleasant hiking trail.
