Taking the cable car to Colle/Kohlern is like embarking on a journey through time. It is the oldest cable car in the world built for transporting people, an idea which came to the genius mind of the restaurateur Josef Staffler from Bolzano, who saw the great tourism potential of it. Since the 29th June 1908 just over 100 years have passed; an original cabin, built at the beginning of the century, is displayed at the mountain station and is denifitely worth a visit.

The majestic Hochjochferner glacier lies along the border between Austria and Italy. The glacier cable car overcomes more than a thousand metres in altitude in six minutes and takes guests from Maso Corto up to 3,212 metres. Every year from September to May, winter sports enthusiasts hit the slopes at this world class 185-acre natural park. The glacier is equally suited to beginners and experienced skiers, as well as families. The real crowd pleaser is especially the 8 km long Schmuggler downhill slope leading into the valley. 

The La Crusc 1 four-seater chairlift brings you from the village of Badia to a sunny clearing at the foot of the majestic Sas dla Crusc. Not far from the top station of the chairlift, the La Crusc 2 cable car departs, leading to the hospice and the La Crusc church.
From the top station of the La Crusc 1 chairlift there are several easy paths suitable also for families, including the thematic path "In the footsteps of wild animals" along which sculptures of wild animals carved in larch and pine wood by a local artist have been installed.
Olso ideal for children is the SummerPark La Crusc with games and fun activities.

In winter, the La Crusc ski area is particularly popular with more relaxed skiers and families with children. The slopes leading down to the valley are easy, wide and sunny. Don't miss a trip to the Kids Fun Line La Crusc, with obstacles and adventures, such as the Fun Line Rainbow Bridge, a kicker ramp, a smiley to say hello or a Speed Booster, which sounds when you slide over

A short trip across the enchanting Ratschingstal valley takes you to the bottom station of the Ratschings-Jaufen lift. Already during the comfortable ascent with the ultra-modern 8-seat cable car, you can admire the fantastic winter landscape around you that will make you look forward to a wonderful day of skiing. High above, at 2,150 m, you are already in the middle of pure snow fun.

This two-seater chairlift runs up to the Mittager peak at 2,260 m above sea level in both winter and summer. At the top, expect jaw-dropping panoramic views of the South Tyrolean mountains: The vistas of the famous Dolomite peaks in the distance are simply breath-taking.

The Mittager chairlift is open to pedestrians year-round.

The in 2017 newly built cable car on the left side of the valley leads to the high plateau Lazaun (2,430m).The new cable car traverses a change in altitude of 430 metres (1,400 feet) and can transport up to 1,980 passengers per hour. The 27 closed gondolas conveniently take skiers, tobogganers and winter hikers up to the Lazaun mountain station in just under four minutes. The mountain station lies at 2,430 metres (7,970 feet) above sea level and is the starting point of two ski slopes of intermediate difficulty covering a total distance of around 3.5 kilometres (2.2 miles) as well as a toboggan track of 3.3 kilometres (2 miles) in length.

Refreshment: The Lazaun  mountain hut offers a giant sunny terrace.

The Skiarena Klausberg is THE ski and hiking hotspot for sportsmen and nature lovers in the Ahrntal. The famous Alpine Coaster "Klausberg Flitzer", a summer toboggan run, which is unique to South Tyrol due to its length and steepness, has already made one or two break out in a cold sweat - the speed experience of 2 km at Klausberg, peppered with jumps and 360° spins.

The skiing area in the middle of the lake landscape in Reschen does justice to its name: 15 lifts, snow guarantee until spring and wide slopes offer variety for families, snowboarders and skiers. 65 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes and the lifts promise a varied skiing day in the Venosta valley. In summer, the Schöneben cable car takes both hikers and bikers to the top. Once you reach the top, it is a true paradise for active holidays. The cable car wich connects Bolzano/Bozen to Oberbozen/Soprabolzano is a shining example of public transport on a international level, with departures every 4 minutes. Once there, it's possible to explore the area from Oberbozen to Klobenstein/Collalbo by the famous little train, enjoying the view of vast meadows and countryside with a glimpse on farms and a beautiful panorama on the Dolomites. This ride really is a memorable experience.
