Landscape pictures of our immediate surroundings, fauna and flora of our mountain world. Hubert Hilscher, born and resident in Niederdorf/Villabassa, is a passionate amateur photographer and a member of the “Strix Naturfotografen Südtirol”. “Special light and cloud moods or even fog give the mountains a special magic. Some nights under the starry sky, but also encounters with wild animals, small insects or flowers are always something special for me and I am grateful to be able to experience such moments,” he says with conviction. The summer mushroom exhibition is organised by the Urania Merano in collaboration with the Bolzano branch "Mykologischen Vereins Bresadola". They expect to be able to exhibit more than 200 species of mushrooms, including some potentially deadly poisonous mushrooms, at the 13th Merano Mushroom Exhibition. This year, a mushroom inspection centre will once again be set up at the mushroom exhibition: On Saturday, visitors can bring their mushrooms to the exhibition and have them identified by an expert. 33 artists from Val Gardena will exhibit in different stores of Ortisei their piece of art from September 20 to November 2, 2025. The respective works will be on display in the shop windows or in the stores. A jury of experts will award prizes for the best design. In addition, a public prize will also be awarded for the most beautiful installation and all customers of the participating stores may participate in a raffle with great value vouchers. The prizes are kindly sponsored by Raiffeisen Gherdëina. "Shop & Art Urtijëi" should be seen above all as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and networking between these two traditional economy branches. Through this project, the aim is to make Ortisei better known as an open-air shopping center and as an artists' village.

Exhibitors from Five Countries For the 47th time, the large international collectors’ fair, Lanaphil, will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Lana/South Tyrol. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will be a meeting point for collectors. About 50 exhibitors and many collectors will be present in the large hall, the foyer, and on the stage of the Raiffeisenhaus in Lana. Exhibitors and visitors from the following five countries will participate: Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and the Czech Republic. Twice a Year Collectors’ Fair The founder and organizer, Albert Innerhofer, a passionate collector of old and historical postcards, first organized this collectors' meeting in Lana on October 22, 2000. Since then, the event has been very popular, taking place twice a year—once in April and once in October—in the Raiffeisenhaus of Lana, South Tyrol. Thanks to visits to many collectors' fairs both in Italy and abroad, many friendships and contacts with other collectors have developed, some of which have lasted for decades and are still ongoing today. At this fair, old historical postcards, stamps (including personalized stamps), coins, letters, pre-philatelic items, historical stock certificates, banknotes, military items, and other memorabilia such as books, engravings, old photos, and accessories will be available for trade, purchase, or sale. Personalized Stamps Each year at Lanaphil, new personalized stamps are released. Currently, the following personalized stamps are available: Heinrich Dalla Rosa (1909-1945), a priest from Lana who was executed by the Nazis on January 24, 1945 – 2024 Dipl.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Franz Wanner's first Italian solo exhibition, curated by Kristina Kreutzwald and Martina Oberprantacher, traces his complex artistic research. Using photography, video, words and objects, the artist investigates the past, focusing on the war industry and the use of forced labour in the context of National Socialism, and its effects on society in the present, bringing to light omissions that have been perpetuated over time. For this exhibition, Franz Wanner has also carried out some specific research on the South Tyrolean context and the use of forced labour during the period of the ‘Zone of Operations in the Pre-Alps’, i.e. when the Province of Bolzano was annexed to Nazi Germany.

Kunst Meran Merano Arte hosts AlpiTypes, dedicated to the contemporary reinterpretation and connection between lettering, typographic design and lettering painting. The exhibition focuses on applied graphics developed in the first half of the 20th century in the area currently corresponding to South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino. Curated by Antonino Benincasa, Massimo Martignoni and Anna Zinelli, AlpiTypes is based on the in-depth research conducted by Benincasa and Martignoni on local graphics. A group of students from the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano, Faculty of Design and Art, accompanied by Antonino Benincasa, reinterpreted historical typefaces from incomplete alphabets, which at the time were often made by hand, integrating the missing characters, revealing how the original typographic concept was inspired by European stylistic currents such as Bauhaus, Rationalism, the Wiener Secession, Constructivism and the Arts and Crafts movement. The project is enhanced by the involvement of international graphic designers, who use the fonts to create contemporary typographic posters. The work highlights a quality and topicality of graphic design in the area that is still almost unknown.
