The small but fine School Museum at Tagusens shows visitors and interested people the life of the pupils between the years 1933 and 1993 and is a unique collection of furnishings and teaching documents that have been preserved on site. The school life in Tagusens did not mean an encounter with the "foreign" world for the "ABC-Shooters". The children in the lonely place knew each other, only the teacher changed year after year. Furnishings and teaching objects were less worn than elsewhere and thus remained intact. Nostalgic feelings and memories are certainly not absent here and seduce to a bygone era. The school museum is open every Wednesday and Friday from 14:00-18:00 and every Sunday from 10:00-18:00. You do not need to register for a visit.

Visit one of the oldest preserved churches in Europe. The small church of St Benedict from the 8th century AD has Carolingian wall paintings inside, which are among the oldest frescoes in Western Europe. A building from the 8th century. The Romanesque tower dates from the 12th century. The paintings and Carolingian frescoes inside are among the oldest in the entire German-speaking world. The church harbours the world's only portrait of a Frankish landlord. More than 60 vintage tractors, including 40 "Porsche-Diesel" tractors and 5 Porsche-Diesel Master tractors from various years of construction, can be viewed in the tractor museum. The oldest piece in the collection is a "Balilla" tractor dating from 1929. An experience for young and old! Please note: the guided tour is only available in German and Italian!

Cyanotype is an ancient method of photographic printing characterised by the typical Prussian Blue colour (hence the name derived from the ancient Greek kyanos, “blue”). It was discovered in England in 1842 and was first used photographically by Anna Atkins, a botanist and photographer, who published a book of cyanotypes of algae, considered the first book with photographic images in history. With Exposure Time, the association 00A - Centre for Contemporary Photography presents the second edition of contemporary photography on billboards in the public space of Merano. Exposure Time is more than just a title, it is an open field of questions: How much time do we give to seeing? How much light can memory take? When does visibility begin, and when does it become an imposition? 15 artists explore one of the central elements of photography: exposure time, the interplay of light and time. Their works, spread across 27 large-format billboards in the public space of Merano, form a polyphonic visual essay on light as a medium of perception, as a carrier of memory, as a catalyst for social reflection. A traveling exhibition by the Hermann-Oberth Space Museum in Feucht retraces the life, ideas, and scientific insights of Max Valier. As part of the Max Valier Weeks 2025, two weeks of public events will focus on astronomy, rocketry, and space exploration. The rich program includes conferences, exhibitions, film screenings, astronomical observations, round tables, and meetings with scientists and astronauts, aiming to engage youth, families, enthusiasts, and the curious in the wonders of space. Organized by MUA – Movimento Universitario Altoatesino in collaboration with the South Tyrol Museum of Natural Sciences and major scientific partners.

Cultural event organised by the ‘Romano Guardini’ Cultural Centre at the Dominican Cloister from 7 to 18 May. This is the exhibition on the spread of Christianity in South Tyrol, which was realised on the occasion of the Holy Year 2000 and will be presented again this year in order to offer an opportunity to reflect on the origin of that ‘hope’ to which Pope Francis refers in the current Jubilee 2025. The exhibition will be open every day, with the possibility of guided tours (10am-12pm and 4pm-7pm) and a total of 35 panels with bilingual texts will be on display. On 8 May, at 5 p.m., it will be inaugurated together with the curators, by the Bishop of Bolzano Bressanone Ivo Muser.

A collection of the traditional costume "Rittner Tracht" from the 18th century to the present day. On Wednesdays and Fridays from 4–6 p.m. in the historic Commandery Lengmoos. Last entry: 5.30 p.m., Admission: € 4, free with RittenCard. The traditional costume has a long tradition on the Ritten/Renon, which is still cultivated by associations and organisations today. It is very important for us to preserve this living cultural asset for the future and make it accessible to a broad public.

Guided tour of the church and visit to the Romanesque three apses church of St. Margarethen. It is one of the Romanesque sites in South Tyrol and represents an art-historical treasure of European value. On the Romanesque Road you will come across numerous documents from earlier times. From the "Foolish Virgins" and the "Dumpling Eater", to one of the oldest churches in Tyrol, the smallest town in the Alps and the highest Benedictine monastery in Europe, as well as other Romanesque frescoes and sites of unspeakable value, these are all part of the "Stairway to Heaven" project. This is one of 18 phrases on the "Plauser Totentanz" illustration cards on the wall of the Plaus cemetery painted by artist Luis Stefan Stecher. What do these phrases mean? Alexander Wierer and Rasmus Ramö Streith first met in the summer of 2024, in Paris, during their stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts. At that time, the Olympic Games were taking place in Paris, turning the city into an isolated and guarded space. The July heat played its part, further paralysing people and children. Under these circumstances, a friendship was born. Shoe soles, leftover cakes and a cash machine intertwine in the exhibition no, no flowers into a tale. They tell of the traces of the path travelled, the celebrations celebrated and the receipt of a very deep friendship.

MEET engage - teilnehmen - partecipare Fiè - temporary exhibition on the village square - Art in the public space 09.05 - 31.10.2025 Vernissage 09.05.2025 - at 7.00 pm on the village square Artists: Marianna Gostner archival prints and photographies Kuratorin: Eva von Ingram Harpf The third edition of the temporary outdoor art installation for the town square of Fie sees Marianna Gostner a local multidisciplinary visual artist as protagonist. Gostner engages with archival photographies of local women and men and has selected a few outstanding portraits of late farmers in their festive garb - the so called Tracht. She displays them on site specific mounted frames all over the square of the old town of Fie. Moreover the shop windows of the well known Delago house will be covered with works where the artist has done some interventions to alter their aesthetic aspect. Mariann Gostner works a lot with „negatives“ of the photographic film and shows them in their nude , rough version. Life size photographies are placed good visible throughout the square of Fie to welcome visitors to engage with the people on the works. The artist want the local people as well as visitors to step into a visual dialogue where every frame invites participation, reflection, and emotion. Engage is a curated collection of photographs that challenge the passive gaze and demand attention—each image a moment of connection between subject, photographer, and viewer. Intimate portraits of proud South Tyrolean citizens in the works explore what it means to truly engage—with people, with places, with the present. Whether through confrontation, curiosity, or quiet contemplation, the photographs speak volumes in silence. This is not just an exhibition to observe. It’s one to experience, to question, to feel what the people on the works must have thought and felt int the moment the portraits were taken.
