    Steinwandhof Tour
    Martell/Martello, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

The way to Val Martello’s best Kaiserschmarren (sugared pancake with raisins) is not far from Val Martello’s pivot if you go by e-bike or by bike. Start at the Trattla sports and leisure center and take the road into the valley. Turn right and continue on path no. 7 to reach Martello’s valley path (South Tyrol Strawberry Trail, no. 36). Go until the bridge and continue towards the village of Martello. First go up the asphalt road before you continue up and down along the sunny slope northwards. Passing by rather steep, irrigated meadows and houses that are acrobatically built into the slopes the road gets narrower and you are surrounded by sloping terrain. Pass by a little church and quickly cross the forest before you arrive at your destination: the Steinwandhof farm situated high above Val Martello with its wonderful view of both the mountains and the valley.

The trail starts at the end of the Gerry Trail and ends at the Riatschof. From here you can either take the Riatschwegele Trail 2 or an easier variant to the Mutzkopf valley station.
The trail is one of the flowiest and easiest in our area. It is perfectly adapted to the terrain. Playful lines make the trail very attractive. After about 0.5 KM a northshore leads in the opposite direction of the trail and leads very flat with short pedaling passages to the end of the trail.

From the train station, cycle leisurely along the bike path into the idyllic Pflersch Valley and continue towards the Brenner Pass. Soon, turn left onto the Giggelberger Road, which winds uphill in gentle curves. Along the paved route, you pass blooming meadows and rustic farms until you reach Außergiggelberg – the last farms are already nestled in a stunning mountain backdrop.
Here, a forest road begins, leading further upwards through dense woods and across scenic clearings. Arriving below the Sanjoch, turn right and follow the ridge – accompanied by impressive views of the surrounding peaks – until you reach the Sandjoch. At the top, it’s worth pausing for a moment to take in the tranquility of the mountains.
The return journey follows the same route, offering more beautiful panoramic views down the valley.

Just 500 m before the valley station of the Bergkastel cable car (Nauders), take a sharp right along a fairly steep gravel road to the mountain station. Stop for refreshments in the Bergkastel mountain restaurant. Here starts the most beautiful part of the tour: return to the ascent path to the Bergkastelalpe and continue to the left to the high moorland of Plamortböden and the anti-tank barrages that are also well known across the border. From here on use the forest road or the beautifully laid out trails (S2). After passing the barriers, the view opens up over the Vinschgau Valley with its unique lake landscape from the vantage point on the rock. With a breathtaking view descend to Reschen: on the technical and partly more demanding Bunker Trail (no. 101, S2), with the subsequent Etsch Trail (no. 102, S1) leading into the forest, or on the forest road to Reschen. Once back there, enjoy a typical aperitif.

    Grün - Schwarzsee Lake Tour
Graun im Vinschgau/Curon Venosta, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
From Reschen old village - Altdorf, we head straight towards the Vallierteck Chapel and continue towards the Rescher Alm car park. At the car parking, turn right and follow the uphill gravel path to the alpine pasture with repeated great views of the lake landscape. At the Rescher Alm, enjoy traditional delicacies, including Kaiserschmarren, before continuing on the gravel and forest path, crossing the three-way border point in a northerly direction to the 3-Länder Enduro Trail. First on a meadow path, then narrower and partly more challenging, this trail leads from the open terrain into the forest to the Grünsee lake. After a short crank passage, reach the Schwarzsee lake. The way from Grünsee to Schwarzsee lake is technically rather arduous. Join per bike the Schwarzsee lake also using the forest road. To go back downhill to the valley, there are more choices: via forest road, or using the old "Tiefen Sommerweg'' (S1-S2, partly rough) or the family trail (no. 70, S1) to Nauders. Enduro Trail lovers continue on the 3-Länder Trail and forest road to reach Nauders and the Bergkastel valley station via the Oberer Gerry Trail (no. 69, S2) or part of the Kreuzmoos Trail (no. 68, S2) as well as the Familytrail. Once reached the valley, take the cycle path to the Reschen Pass over the border, back to the starting point.

    Resia Lake Round
Graun im Vinschgau/Curon Venosta, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

This route is suitable for a leisurely excursion, for families, and for mountain bike or e-bike tours for warm-up. The Resia lake can be cycled in both directions. Almost exclusively on asphalt, start along the cycle and gravel path from the famous church tower in Graun northwards to Reschen - past the sailing boats waiting for wind. Don't cycle straight forward to the Austrian state border. Instead, follow the cycle path in Reschen towards the western lakeside, past the Schöneben valley station, and calmly tackle the incline along the lake. The route is leisurely - until the southern lakeside with the dam wall and there is a fantastic view over the Malser Haide and King Ortler (3,905 m). At the dam, turn north and enjoy the panorama with the lake and the approaching mountains back to Graun. If the wind is strong, kiters and sailors can be spotted on Lake Reschen. There are cozy stops along the lake at the Sciuri at the Schöneben valley station, at the taverns Greinhof and Giernhof, at the new kitestation or at the businesses in Reschen and Graun.

From St. Valentin over the dam wall of lake Resia, the tour takes us westwards through the hamlet of Innerkaschon up to the old road towards Schöneben (above the old Reschensee road). The climb is approx. 8 km and 650 m in altitude, first on asphalt and then on gravel, mainly through forest, to the Haideralm mountain restaurant with its beautiful panoramic terrace overlooking the surrounding mountains and the two lakes. The descent leads back 350 m along the ascent route before turning on the right towards Zerzer valley. Cross the ski slope to hiking trail no. 7, which leads to the Bruggeralm alpine hut, where you can enjoy some excellent dumplings and alpine cheese in the summer months. After the bridge behind the alpine hut, turn left and follow signpost no. 8, past the St. Martin chapel to the Faulen See lake and continue down the paths to the Vinschger cycle path. Turn left and cycle comfortably along the Haidersee lake back to St. Valentin.

Note: The name "Goas" comes from the Vinschgau dialect and means goat. When farmers in this region increasingly practised "Goashaltung" in agriculture, this mountain was the grazing area for these animals.

The cycle from Prato to Passo dello Stelvio is known as a classic one in the cycling scene. It is not only the 25 km and the roughly 1800 meters of difference in altitude that are particularly appealing. It is as well the total of 48 hairpin turns that, starting from Prato via Gomagoi, Trafoi and Franzenshöhe, raise to the second highest tarmaced mountain pass of Europe. Near Trafoi, the cyclist will be offered an unrestricted view of the glacier and rock formations of the Ortles range that will be present until the pass is reached. For the descent, the route via the Umbrail pass and Switzerland to Prato is recommended.

From Ibsenplatz, head towards the train station, descend the wide steps with a ramp, and continue into the Pflersch Valley. After about 2 km, turn left onto a forest road (1,077 m). This road climbs a little steeply at first, then continues gently into the valley until it ends at km 7.2.
Here, a trail through the forest begins – experienced bikers can ride this section, while less experienced riders may prefer to push their bikes. After another 400 m (km 7.6), the forest road resumes and leads to km 8.7. At this point, you have the first option to turn left and stop for refreshments at the Ladurnerhütte (1,731 m).
Return from the Ladurnerhütte on the same path. At km 11.1, you rejoin the forest road, which offers a pleasant descent. At km 15.2, you’ll come across a path leading to Innerpflersch (do not turn – wrong direction!). After another 500 m (km 15.7), you reach a junction: here, a slightly uphill path takes you to the welcoming Allriss-Alm (1,534 m, refreshment stop).
From here, it’s all downhill – first on a gravel road, then on asphalt – passing the sports field in Pflersch and continuing down the valley along the valley and cycle path back towards Gossensass.
