The wishing bell on the Rosskopf / Monte Cavallo carries your wishes, thoughts and prayers high above the peaks of the mountains into the country. The ringing of the bell brings hope, joy and confidence.  

In the Pflersch Valley, where the air is clear and the meadows are full of life, true treasures of nature grow by the wayside: native wild herbs with great effects. If you stroll through the forests and alpine meadows, you will not only discover the beauty of the landscape, but also the variety of herbs whose scent, colours and powers have been appreciated for centuries.
Once a week - every Friday from June to September - visitors can gain an insight into traditional herbal knowledge on a leisurely herb hike in the Pflersch Valley under expert guidance. The easy tour leads through flower-filled meadows to the Botenhof, where you can marvel at rare alpine plants. However, the centrepiece of the tour is a visit to the herb manufactory, which is dedicated to refining regional herbs.
Here, high-quality organic products are created from hand-picked flowers and plant parts - with care and great attention to detail. In the manufactory, herbal expert Bernhard Auckenthaler processes the collected herbs into finely balanced tea blends, aromatic spices and natural care products. Everything is done by hand, sustainably and with respect for nature.
Visitors can look forward to a guided tasting: fragrant teas, flavoursome herbs, soothing ointments - everything can be tasted and discovered. If you like, you can also purchase the products directly on site - a special souvenir from the mountains and a piece of genuine Alpine nature to take home with you.
The Wipptal herb gardens - the Botenhof in Pflersch and the Steurerhof in Wiesen - stand for regional quality, traditional knowledge and modern enjoyment - a place where ancient knowledge of medicinal plants remains alive and can be experienced with all the senses.

In addition to the large selection of selected wines, you can expect spirits, fine whisky, Italian grappa, high-quality specialties from South Tyrol and Italy at a good price and much more.

A nature play in white marble!The Gilfenklamm is a gorge in pure white marble and stretches from the village Stange/Stanghe into the Ratschingstal/Val Racines to the hamlet of Jaufensteg/Ponte Giovo. Wooden bridges and runways lead through the canyon and give a spectacular sight to the waterfalls. The primordial power of the water is tangible with all senses. The gorge is protected as a natural monument and is known as one of the most beautiful natural attractions in the Alpine region.

The runways through the gorge were built in 1896 and just after a few years the unfolded magic attracted numerous visitors. Beetween the great world wars the bridges were left to decay, but were restored in the early 1960s, and have since become a must see of the Sterzing-Ratschings area. The hike through the gorge lasts nearly one hour (1,5 hours with return) and is worthwhile for nature lovers, families and seniors.

The Gilfenklamm gorge is situated in the Eisacktal/Alta Val d’Isarco valley, close to Ratschings/Racines and the city of Sterzing/Vipiteno. On an established trail you can walk across this charming and breathtaking canyon with its waterfalls cascading into the depth. About 100 years ago the gorge was named after the Austrian emperor Franz Josef, but its name changed so that it is now known as the “Cascate di Stanghe” gorge. During its course, the initially small Rio di Ratschings river turns into a roaring river which has been carving its way through the marble walls for centuries. Experience the forces of nature and the uniqueness of this fabulous natural monument.

No reservation is necessary. However, it is recommended to avoid the main visiting hours (between 10.00 am and 12.30pm).

Discover the new panorama platform at the mountain lake Fuchssee in Ridnaun with a magnificent 360° panoramic view! In the middle of the Ridnaun alpine world, spectacular views and breathtaking vistas make this platform unique.

The most important mountain peaks and mountain groups as well as major cities are shown exactly in the direction of view, making it easier to find and locate them.

The circular panorama platform can be reached from the residential area Entholz in Gasse. There are parking spaces near the Hotel Taljörgele, from where you follow trail no. 24A up to the Joggelealm mountain pasture. Continue in the direction of the Valtiglalm pasture and follow the halfway path to the small mountain lake Fuchsee with its viewing platform.
Alternatively, you can follow trail no. 26 from the parking lot of the Valtiglalm pasture, continue past the alpine hut in the direction of the Joggilealm pasture and reach the Fuchssee viewing platform.

South Tyrol's highest refuge is located on the southern side of the Stubai Alps at an altitude of 3,195 meters. The Becherhaus was built in 1894 by the German and Austrian Alpine Club, but subsequently received several conversions and renovations. The latest renovation work on the highest building site in South Tyrol was completed in the summer of 2021 after about a year of work. The original construction period lasted from March to August 1894, for which 25 tons of material were brought from Maiern to the summit. In the same year, the hut was opened under the name "Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Schutzhaus". The name was then changed a few years later. The chapel "Maria im Schnee" was also built and can still be visited today.

Despite its impressive location, the refuge offers mountaineers running water, hot meals in the comfortable Stube dining room and space for 100 people; the fire safety equipment, technical facilities and energy-generation system are also up to date. The Becherhaus is open from the end of June to mid-September. Well-known peaks such as Wilder Freiger (3418 m), Zuckerhütl (3505 m), Sonklarspitze (3463 m) and Botzer (3250 m) round off the Becherhaus in the area of eternal snow. 

Starting from the head of the Ridnauntal valley in the direction of the Aglsbodenalm, you reach the Becherhaus via the Grohmann and Teplitzer refuges. After the Teplitzerhütte, past the picturesque Vogelhüttensee lake, continue on trail no. 9 over boulders and well-secured passages with wire ropes and step bars, crossing a moraine to below the Becherfelsen rock. The last part of the hike is via serpentines up to the Becherhaus. Mountaineering experience, surefootedness and appropriate equipment are essential! The way back is via the ascent path.

The via ferrata „Ölberg“ in Afens in Pfitsch, with about 550 m climbing length, requires surefootedness and a head for heights. After the village Wiesen near the town of Sterzing, directly after the tunnel in the direction of the Pfitsch valley, there is a parking possibility. From here, walk back along the old “Pfitscher” road to the start of the via ferrata. It leads along the rock face in the right part of the Ölberg, where there are different variants with varying degrees of difficulty. These lead to a shoulder with a small rest area and then further down again on a partly secured path. Shortly before the village Afens a stream is crossed with a suspension bridge, the bridge can also be bypassed via a footpath. Afterwards, you have the option of descending either via Afens or directly back to the starting point at the parking lot. 

Difficulty / Equipment
On the difficulty scale from A to E (from easy to extreme), the Ölberg via ferrata is at B / D, in the middle range. Here, a large part of the route can be assigned to the B range. Several variants offer the difficulty level D, while the easier options are at B / C. Thus, the Ölberg via ferrata is ideal for experienced via ferrata enthusiasts. For children who already have climbing experience, a minimum height of 1.30m is recommended.

Starting point 
From the parking lot after the tunnel next to the old Pfitscher road to the start of the via ferrata about 15 minutes walk. 

Descent 
Either via Afens or directly back to the starting point at the parking lot.

Shoot with original biathlon rifles at a distance of 50 meters - with or without skis. On request, we also offer the organization of entertaining biathlon fun races for groups.

Panoramic platform at Rosskopf / Monte Cavallo: Outlook with insight to the Tyrolean mountain world. The panorama platform with 360° round view is just beneath the Rosskopf summit. Enjoy a sensational view to the surrounding mountains from the Tribulaun massif in the North, the Zillertal alps in the East, the Dolomites and the Sarntaler alps in the South and the Stubaier alps in the west.

Schrammacher, Olperer, Geißler and much more summits to see – just a wonderful, nearly touchable mountain view. In high season the Panorama cable car takes you just a few meters beneath the platform, so quite everyone can enjoy the long-distance vision. The display boards are showing the mountain names in your range of vision.

If the weather does not permit outdoor climbing or if you want to keep up your climbing skills during the winter months, artificial climbing walls are a welcome alternative.

The Pfeifer Huisile Gorge offers a fabulous view of the beauty of two imposing waterfalls. From the 12m long viewing platform, you can look down an impressive 85 metres into the depth. The gorge through which the Ratschinger Bach descends into the valley via gushing waterfalls is called Pfeifer Huisile, a sorcerer who was born and raised here in the hamlet of Flading around 1625.

The playground in Wiesen / Prati is a pleasant place and a popular meeting place for children and parents.
