Favorite activities: Climbing in the Dolomites (and beyond), with a preference for the glaciers of South Tyrol and the Western Alps. In winter, he is passionate about ski touring.
His alpine highlights include 6000m and 7000m peaks as well as climbs in the Dolomites (up to difficulty level VII), over 2000 ski tours, numerous Alpine peaks over 4000m and challenging, combined ice tours and climbs.

New local recreation area "Rosskopf Relax" near the mountain station of Sterzing's local mountain Rosskopf. Look forward to viewing terraces with spectacular mountain panorama over the Wipptaler valley basin and the Eisack valley, right up to the Dolomites. High-quality wooden sun loungers invite you to relax and unwind. The little ones can expect a lot of fun and adventure with the great, new cross-country slide and the popular petting zoo RossyPark.

The barefoot path in Gossensass at the square "Redwitzplatz" invites you to consciously feel the forest floor. The narrow path leads over soft forest floor, stone, wood and other natural materials through the middle of nature - a sensual experience for all ages.

At the end of the path, the Kneipp Oasis awaits along the riverside promenade: a place of relaxation that is completely dedicated to the teachings of Sebastian Kneipp. Cold, clear water, which is channelled through the arms or legs, stimulates circulation, strengthens the immune system and has an invigorating effect on body and mind. Treading water in the Kneipp pool and conscious breathing in the midst of nature also promote relaxation and well-being.

The farm of a passionate sheep farmer and cheese producer from Stein is located in the rear Pflerschtal valley, at the foot of the imposing mountain Tribulaun. High-quality products made from sheep's milk are produced here with great care and traditional craftsmanship - including the finest fresh and hard cheeses and creamy sheep's yoghurt made from fresh sheep's milk.
These natural delicacies are available every Friday from mid-April to the end of October at the farmers' market in Sterzing - directly from the producer, with an authentic mountain flavour.

The Rofis Boden in Stilfes near Sterzing is one of Freienfeld's natural gems. A few minutes' walk above the center of Stilfes leads to a large clearing right in the middle of the forest. There you will find a small natural pond, extensive green meadows, a barbecue area, a pavilion and a playground made of natural materials.

The holy Apostle Andreas is the parish church in Ratschingstal/Val Racines consecrated. It was first mentioned in 1326, and about 400 years later, a complex reconstruction took place in which a round choir and barrel vault were created. The form remained the same despite various renovations, and so in 2004 the 250th anniversary of the local church was solemnly celebrated.

The Church of St. Nicholas in Kematen was built despite the pronounced popular hostility between 1801 and 1807, integrating parts of a neogothic construction dating from 1468 into the new building. The Church was consecrated in 1833. The barrel vault was rebuilt in 1861. The main altarpiece is by Anton Sieß (1768) and depicts the patron, Saint Nicholas. The frescoes are by Franz Altmutter of Vienna (1811).

Martin is always on hand with practical tips and is pleased to accompany you through the mountains of South Tyrol. His walks are not standard routes and the groups are very small, so Martin can take his time for each participant. At Tele Radio Vinschgau he has his own series: "So wanders South Tyrol" and in 2014 he wrote his first book "Rediscover Known Ways in South Tyrol". In addition to his knowledge of herb cultivation, he wants to be the first certified nature coach in South Tyrol to bring nature to you with all your senses.
