The bike tour from Egna to Castelrotto offers fantastic views and a truly unique experience of South Tyrol’s landscape. From Egna, you’ll cycle along the scenic South Tyrolean Wine Road. Your destination, Castelrotto, is a charming village nestled at the foot of the Dolomites. Its historic center, with narrow alleyways and a striking church tower, invites you to soak in the local atmosphere. From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Dolomites – well worth every bit of effort along the way.

The starting point is easily accessible by train, and bikes are allowed on board. Unfortunately, buses do not transport bicycles. We recommend continuing from Castelrotto to Ponte Gardena (see Castelrotto–Vipiteno tour) to catch the train back from there.

The bike tour from Auer to Lake Kaltern passes through vineyards and orchards. After a gentle ascent, you reach the lake and can enjoy the magnificent view.

Kastelruth, idyllically located at the foot of the Dolomites, captivates with its historic village center and the distinctive Kastelruth church tower. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. This place, steeped in history, is truly a gem of the region.

The bike tour takes you down into the Eisack Valley, where you’ll ride through a partly mountainous landscape while enjoying stunning views of forests and meadows. At your destination, Sterzing, you’ll discover a charming old town with splendid townhouses and Gothic churches that highlight the city’s medieval atmosphere. Sterzing is not only a historical treasure—it also offers numerous cultural attractions, such as the impressive Reifenstein Castle.

The Etsch Bike Route is a pleasant cycle path running from Meran/Merano to Bozen/Bolzano. If you rent your bike at the “Südtirol Rad” or "Papin Sport" rental point in Meran, you may return it at that company’s rental point in Bozen.
The return trip to Meran can then be undertaken by train. 
 
If you ride your own bicycle and would like to take the train from Bozen to Meran, you should keep in mind that taking bicycles on the train is subject to a charge (€ 7) and is only possible to a limited extent (not more than 16-20 bicycles per train) due to space and security reasons. In any case, priority is given to the transportation of people.

Starting from the north of the country, the cycle route gently descends along the railway line in winding curves, leading you to Colle Isarco (Gossensass) and then on to Vipiteno (Sterzing). Shortly after leaving the Brenner Pass, you can enjoy your first Italian cappuccino in a charming cultural gem along the way.

The route then takes you straight into the heart of the Fugger town of Vipiteno – simply ride through the open arch of the iconic Zwölferturm (Tower of the Twelve). From there, the path continues over flat and slightly uphill sections, passing through villages and hamlets until you reach the impressive Franzensfeste Fortress. A stop here is highly recommended to explore the exhibition rooms of this historical structure, originally built for war but never actually used in combat.

The cycle path then takes you past the Vahrn Lake before arriving in the medieval bishop's town of Brixen. There, you can reflect on your tour with a glass of wine, stroll beneath the arcades, explore local culture, or head straight back into the peaceful natural surroundings.

And if your legs are running out of motivation, don’t worry – the train offers a comfortable way back to your starting point.

Glurns, South Tyrol’s smallest town, enchants visitors with its historic walls, arcades, and hidden gems. This bike tour leads you along the Adige River, past green orchards and gentle vineyards, into the picturesque South Tyrolean lowlands. Upon arriving in Neumarkt, you’ll feel the shift in scenery: Mediterranean flair meets Alpine backdrop – narrow alleyways, charming wine cellars, and the South Tyrolean Wine Road, home to some of the region’s finest wines. A delightful ride through nature and history.

Although Glorenza is accessible by bus, we recommend traveling to Mals if you're using public transport, as you can book a bike transport service there (bikes are not allowed on regular buses). From Malles, it’s just a 5-minute ride by bike to the starting point. For your return journey, Neumarkt’s train station is the ideal option.

Begin in Andreas Hofer Strasse near Lana Tourist Information Office and ride to Tribusplatz square. Here turn right into Treibgasse and then left at the crossroads into Zollstrasse. Follow the signs for Bolzano (left). Cross the MEBO highway and the river Etsch and ride along the Bolzano-Merano cycle path towards Bolzano.

In Ponte d’Adige follow the signs for Appiano. After passing Sigmundskron Castle, turn right onto the Bolzano-Appiano cycle path. At the end of the path continue towards Caldaro. As you reach the Sanvit cycling shop, leave the cycle path and follow the road to the junction for the Mendel Pass. After a 13 km climb you will reach the mountain pass (1,363 m).

Continue to ride to Malosco and turn off to Brez. There turn right following the signs for Proves. The Brezjoch mountain pass (1,397 m) takes you to Lauregno where you can ride along the SP 86 road as far as Proves in the direction of the Ultental Valley. Cross below the Hofmahdjoch and into the Ultental Valley. At the end of this road turn right to Lana and, after passing St. Pankraz reservoir, return to your starting point.

Note: You will be riding through tunnels - make sure that you have lighting on your bicycle.

The Leuchtenburg cycling round tour starts at Klughammer on Lake Caldaro and covers a distance of approximately 24.9 km with an elevation difference of about 170 m. The total ascent is around 290 m. This tour is suitable for touring bikes, trekking bikes, city bikes, and mountain bikes and primarily runs on paved, low-traffic roads. The best times for this tour are spring, late summer, autumn, and winter, with the route being particularly beautiful from mid to late April during the blooming season.

By the way: you can ride the full route as a multi-day tour, or explore each stage as a day trip – depending on how much time you have. The final stage of the multi-day route follows the same path back to Chiusa, allowing you to enjoy a complete cycling experience each day and explore all of the borghi equally. From Margreid, we cycle through the apple orchards via Kurtinig to Salurn, where we turn onto the Adige cycle path heading south. Shortly after Nave San Rocco, we take the road to Lavis and turn left towards the Cembra Valley. We climb up to Cavalese and San Lugano. The route then descends to Ora and back through the orchards to Margreid.

The family-friendly bike ride with the starting point in Nalles, leads you along the villages of the Etschtal Valley through the apple trees.

Die Radtour führt entlang der Etsch, vorbei an üppigen Obstplantagen und fruchtbaren Weingärten bis nach Trient und zum Gardasee. Bekannt für das milde Klima und die mediterrane Vegetation, zählt der Gardasee zu den schönsten und beeindruckendsten Naturregionen Italiens.

Starting from Val Gardena, take the state road n. 242 which leads to Chiusa and continues up to Bressanone on the cycle path that runs alongside the SS12. Once in Bressanone take the ascent through S. Andrea up to Passo delle Erbe. At the top you cycle down towards San Martino in Badia to reach Corvara. Turning right you start the ascent to the Gardena Pass passing through Colfosco. After passing the Gardena Pass a pleasant descent leads to Selva.
