    Martell/Martello, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

If you want to enjoy great views and inform yourself about Europe’s highest granaries, then this is the right tour for you. Start at the Trattla sports and leisure center with the culturamartell visitor center and the South Tyrolean Strawberry World. During this tour, you pass different climate zones at Val Martello‘ Sun Mountain: from the strawberry fields along Martello’s valley path (no. 36) through the village of Martello and up to Europe’s highest mountain farms Premstl, Niederhof or Stallwies built on steep, irrigated slopes. Beautiful mountain farms with wooden shingle roofs accompany you on your way to Stallwies while crossing the partially extremely steep meadows of Martello’s Selva on the road. Just after Premstl at Niederhof, you can enjoy the impressive view of the Cevedale glacier and Martello’s high mountain world. After another three kilometers you reach the Stallwies inn where you turn right at the mill and continue on a beautiful forest road through Swiss pine forests until you reach the Wiesboden viewpoint and picnic area. If you want, you can explore the wooden irrigation channel path or the Mountain Farmer Trail by taking the path up or down.

Tarscher Alm Tour (Malga di Tarres)
    Latsch/Laces, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

Challenging climbs, rewarding views, a "gschmackige Marend" and several trail options.

The tour starts at the  village square of Tarres (Schulweg). Follow the signs on the asphalt road to the valley station of the chairlift Tarres Alp (1,200 m). At the finish house of the toboggan run, turn right and take a fairly leisurely route to Platzleng. From this fantastic picnic spot in the forest, we then crank up the forest road on partly very steep ramps to the Malga di Tarres (1,935 m) and earn a proper stop at the Malga di Tarres and the Mountain Restaurant Malga di Tarres.

From Laces: from the Laces sports stadium (SportForum) in a southerly direction to the AquaForum adventure pool and either via the forest road and Raminiwaal or the road on to Tarres.

Shortcut: The Malga di Tarres lift transports bikes. From Laces we are then almost exclusively on asphalt.

Downhill or connecting variants: Tarscher Alm Trail, Roatbrunn Trail, 4-wins-13.

The new Barbarossa trail at Laces’ Monte Tramontana guarantees pure trail fun for everyone (S2). The uphill starts in Laces and requires good physical condition due to challenging climbs and a difference in altitude of 1300m. Alternatively, you can take the chairlift to comfortably reach Malga di Tarres (Laces – valley station of the chair lift: difference in altitude of 600m).

Having arrived at Malga di Tarres, you can enjoy a wonderful view and look forward to the flowing descent on the new Barbarossa Trail that owes its name to “trail builder and doctor” Gabriel Tappeiner. This trail with a length of 4.5 km and a difference in altitude of 600 m winds through the dense forest and lets cyclists’ hearts beat faster thanks to beautiful cross passages and different curves.

    Roatbrunn Trail
    Latsch/Laces, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

One of the top trails in Laces – very flowing at the beginning with more demanding passages towards the end of the trail.

Start at the Malga di Laces mountain hut and take the forest road towards Töbrunn. Take trail no. 4 at the wayside and cross after 1km. There is a short, steep passage before you follow the beautiful, flowing forest floor trail until the forest road. Cross it and continue on the flowing trail passing by the eponymous Roatbrunn (red fountain). After a short stretch on the Malga di Tarres forest road you get to the next section which meets the Malga di Tarres trail after some 800m. Cross the moss-green forest on slightly washed out passages, easy steps and super forest floor trails. Towards the end the trail becomes more demanding until you get to the Ramini irrigation channel path.

    Laces round
    Latsch/Laces, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

A flowing trailround without great increases. Shady forests at Monte Tramontana, closed forest roads, short single trails, green meadows in the valley basin and sunny slopes at Monte Sole.

This 20 km-long tour is characterized by its great variety, which you can only find in Val Venosta Valley. The tour starts in Laces and takes you to Tiss and Coldrano along the slopes of Monte Sole. Pass by Coldrano Castle, continue to the Tschanderle hamlet and cross the river. The tour then takes you through the village of Vezzano and back to Coldrano where you continue through orchards until you reach the Holzbrugg bridge. Take the forest road and then the single trail along Monte Tramontana to the weather cross above Morter. Cross the village of Morter and go towards Val Martello until you reach the junction for Montani Castle.

In 2002, the Trans Alp race led along this irrigation channel path until the so-called Magrin Böden. You then continue on the "Südtirol Cup" route until the ice rink and the asphalt road. Cross the recreation area in Laces and return to your starting point.

Patsch MTB Tour and Flipsi Trail (Propain)
    Latsch/Laces, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

The beginning of the Flipsi Trail is shared with hikers. Then the trail, famous for its aridity and its ground and forestry floor, winds its way through the valley partly steep terrain with different curves, some of which are more narrow, and beautiful passages crossing between the sparse forests of conifers. After a short "Share the trail" the path is all back for cyclists up placing in the trail 13 to Schlanders/Silandro. On this stretch is again necessary tolerance, because here also hikers walk.

The slope of Monte Sole mountain steep slopes near the trails and glades leave to see the apple orchards and the amazing surrounding mountains. The stretch of trail constructed, 550 meters downhill, always has a width of 80 cm thus offering security to beginners and space speed and jumps to experts. Good technique on the curves and "nose press" in the narrow curves for all those who do not want to get off the saddle.

The Flipsi Trail is located on Monte Sole di Schlanders - an area with a fascinating flora and fauna and unexpected views. Our tip: take time to ride up by bike and discover with each altitude the varied landscape - from apple orchards, vineyards to steppes and picturesque setting.

Information: from authorization to completion the Flipsi Trail was built in just three months, demonstrating that the municipality of Silandro and the Tourism Association Silandro-Lasa want a good joint utilization of Sun Mountain by the two groups: hikers and cyclists. The rest of the trail 14 and trail 7 are reserved for hikers.

The bikeschool vinschgauBIKE has had the contract for the construction and maintenance, and conducts guided tours and technical training as well as shuttle service to the trail.

    Latscher Panorama Trail
    Latsch/Laces, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

A fireworks of trails for experts with head for heights due to exposed S3-G5 passages at the Laces panoramic trail. S2 at the successive Propain trail.

The name of the Laces panoramic trail says it: the panorama is amazing. But this trail is also simply marvelous as it includes everything from technical and exposed passages with hairpins to flowing forest trails and stepped passages. Start at the mountain station of San Martino in Monte (1,740 m). First take the asphalt road and then the gravel hiking path no. 14. After about 2.5 km, the actual trail begins shortly after the Egghof.
Please note: There is a time regulation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for hikers only!
The partially rather exposed path with some technical passages takes you along the slope passing by the Laggar and Zuckbichl ruins. You will be overwhelmed by the wonderful panorama again and again. After a few flow sections, steep hairpins and a short stretch where bikes have to be carried (S3-S4) you get to a forest road and can start the propain trail shortly after Patsch.

The trail becomes more flowing but with many narrow turns on the beautiful trail floor of Val Venosta’s Sun Mountain. The sunny slope declines sharply near the trail and clearings offer views of the apple orchards and the fantastic mountain world. This trail section of 550 depth meters was built with a width of 80 cm and thus offers security to beginners and leaves space for speed and airtime to experts. If you don’t want to get off the bike, a good turn technique and back wheel lifting are required in narrow turns. You can stop for a refreshment with view at Fisolgut near Castel Schlandersberg with a few extra meters.

Several “Share the Trail” sections are marked. The rest of trail no. 14 as well as trail no. 7 are for hikers only!

    Martell/Martello, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

The way to Val Martello’s best Kaiserschmarren (sugared pancake with raisins) is not far from Val Martello’s pivot if you go by e-bike or by bike. Start at the Trattla sports and leisure center and take the road into the valley. Turn right and continue on path no. 7 to reach Martello’s valley path (South Tyrol Strawberry Trail, no. 36). Go until the bridge and continue towards the village of Martello. First go up the asphalt road before you continue up and down along the sunny slope northwards. Passing by rather steep, irrigated meadows and houses that are acrobatically built into the slopes the road gets narrower and you are surrounded by sloping terrain. Flowing, partially rough trail with wonderful views. You will definitely win on this legendary Laces trail.

The famous trail no. 4 in combination with the panoramic and partially exposed trail no. 13 is a true enrichment. Start at the Malga di Laces mountain hut and go through the green forest landscape until the wayside cross where you turn right into trail no. 4. Continue on sometimes flowing and sometimes rough meadow and forest floor trails that wind through the forest until Plumargun and get you into the right trail mood. Don’t follow the steep and heavily washed out trail no. 4, which has been removed from the trail concept, but take the forest road and turn right into trail no. 13 below the distinctive tree. The slightly exposed flowing and narrow S2 trail turns into a heavy passage with some roots and debris towards the end. The view of the valley offers a wonderful panorama at sunset. Please note: “Share the Trail” sections on the hiking paths! The lower part of trail no. 4 from the forest road at Partschogg onwards as well as paths 4a and 4b are for hikers only!

One of the classic tours on the Laces "Nörderberg" - real alpine pasture food included.

From the car park of the Laces sports stadium (SportForum) we start in a southerly direction to the AquaForum adventure pool, then turn right to the ice stadium (IceForum) and straight to the Latscherhof and then to the forest path in the direction to Magrinböden. The forest path is now moderately steep but constant in the direction of Töbrunn. From there we crank the final stretch slightly up and down to the refreshment stop at the Latscher Alm. Homemade products and good dumplings as well as drinks containing electrolytes delight our bikers hearts.
