Already in the late 13th century, Sinich was first mentioned in documents as "ze Ursinie" and in 1350 as "von der Sini". However, Sinich only grew to its current size as a result of the fascist settlement policies of the 1920s. The former swamp area had to be drained by the ONC, the Opera Nazionale Combattenti, before they could build the Montecatini fertilizer factory and new stilted farmhouses. On this architectural walk, we explore Sinich through its various development phases, from the "Borgo Vittoria" and typical residential buildings to works by well-known architects such as Abram & Schnabl, up to the present day.
There is a white sun, hiding behind the fog; a pink sun, which has just lifted its head from the pillow; and a yellow one, the sun that accompanies us high on the beach. Shall we climb up to the sun too? Or maybe not! In fact, we can encounter the sun anyway: in the ice cream that drips, leaving traces on the sand; in the damp laundry that soon becomes dry; in the flowers, which open thanks to it. Together, we will capture it with our fingers and let its rays dance on the paper.
