The exhibition sheds light on the Peasants' War and its prehistory using archival documents from around 1500, focussing on the social, political and economic aspects of life before and during the peasant uprisings. Through the presentation of archival documents from the Diocesan Archives, works of art and everyday objects, perspectives on the Peasants' War that have been little illuminated to date are shown in order to visualise the multi-layered nature of the historical events and their complex causes. The exhibition builds a bridge between past and present and encourages reflection on the continuity of social upheaval.

The colourful fruit that blossoms and ripens everywhere here is legendary, healthy and of symbolic significance for our high plateau. The guided apple hike includes an educational excursion to the apple trees that line the path everywhere here, as well as a film presentation and, of course, apple tasting! Berty Skuber was born in Völs am Schlern and has lived and worked in Völser Aicha for decades, interspersed with longer stays in Venice and Milan and numerous trips. Her exhibition activities, which began in 1970, have taken her far beyond South Tyrol and Italy to various European and American galleries, museums and collections. Berty Skuber works with a wide variety of media in her extensive oeuvre, ranging from painting and drawing to collage, artist's books, sculpture, objects and video. The exhibition shows important stages of her life's work.

The hiking guide will accompany you on this easy circular hike through mountain pine fields to the demonstration distillery at Marzuner Schupfe. Here, you’ll gain an interesting insight into the distillation process, from the mountain pine to the essential oil. For the lunch break, a mountain hut will be visited alternately. Free of charge for holders of the Guest Pass and guests of member establishments. (Transportation and lunch not included)

Not only in the Sarentino Valley, the valley of the mountain pines, does the mountain pine grow, but also on the acidic silicate soils of the Villandro Alp. The power of this mountain plant is immense. The beneficial and fragrant essential oil is perfect for relaxing baths, for infusions and compresses, or as an ingredient in scrubs. In an aroma lamp, the scent helps to improve the room atmosphere. Every Monday, a distillation demonstration takes place. All interested visitors can gain insight into how the mountain pine is processed into essential oil.

Guided hike to waterfalls of Barbian with breathing exercises, Dreikirchen with tasting of healing water, guided visit at the farm "Kräuterhof" Kreitla. Meeting place at 10am at the Information Office Barbian. Hiking time: 3,5 hours, return at around 4pm, easy hike, good footwear, rain shelter. On this hike you will reach the Weitenbergsee and the Grindlbergsee, two beautiful mountain lakes that fit into their respective landscapes in very different ways: the former is located on a small plateau, while the latter is embedded in the mountain landscape. One is striking for its boundless views, the other for its depth. This is a worthwhile hike not only for the lakes, but also for the views of the green mountains of Fundres and the naturalistic richness of the experience: amidst whistling marmots, bubbling streams, soaring raptors and nimble stoats, there is much to discover! The Villanders mine in the Eisack Valley, with a wide view of the Dolomites, was one of the most important mining areas in Tyrol in the Middle Ages. At that time, silver, galena, copper and much more were mined. The Villanders Culture and Museum Association has carefully restored the mine in recent years. It is now one of the few mines in South Tyrol that is open to visitors. Guided tours only from April to October on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 and 14:30, Sundays at 10:30 (duration approx. 1.5 h) In July & August additionally on Wednesdays at 10:30 (duration approx. 2 h). IMPORTANT: arrive at the mine at least 10 minutes in advance! Individual special tours are available all year round on request. All prices can be found on the mine's website.

Antonín Dvorák's impressive Stabat Mater for soloists, choir and orchestra is probably the best-known of the Bohemian composer's sacred works. Dvorák's own painful experiences with the loss of three children are likely to have prompted his preoccupation with the suffering of the Mother of God under the cross of her son. The work is one of the most moving and successful sacred works in music. The summer in Natz-Schabs becomes musical! Every Wednesday, concerts by numerous South Tyrolean music bands take place on the high plateau. Traditional and also modern sounds fill the room. The perfect occasion to end the evening in a cosy atmosphere.

No two alpine pastures are alike, and nowhere is this more evident than here in the mountainous region of South Tyrol. Local and seasonal, straight from the producer. Farmers from the surrounding area bring their own farm produce to the Brixen old town centre. Depending on the season, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, eggs, flowers, honey, homemade jams and pasta sauces, refined distillates and organically grown herbs as well as wooden handicrafts are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From April to October, local associations prepare fresh tirtln (fried stuffed pastry) on site on a weekly basis. This means that every Saturday is also a culinary experience. This market has been a popular, lively meeting place for locals and guests for 30 years.
