To find out what has remained of this tradition, what winegrowing in the abbey’s vineyards involves today and the philosophy on which it is based, come on a vineyard tour. We’ll not only tell you all about Neustift winegrowing but also serve you its products. The tour of the vineyards together with the following wine tasting takes about 90 minutes in all. And lasts for longer. Participation in the vineyard tour is only possible with prior registration. To help us start punctually … Please come to the abbey entrance 15 minutes before the beginning of the tour.

For a long time, the chestnut was considered a “bread tree”, which mainly served as food for the poorer people. In the Eisacktal valley, the chestnut still has a special significance today, and the “Keschtnweg”, which starts at the Neustift monastery and stretches a total of 90 km to Vilpian, is known far beyond Brixen. Our hike starts in Klausen and takes us to Säben Monastery and then further along the Keschtnweg trail to Felthurns. We can stop for refreshments at the Buschenschank Huber (not included) before visiting Velthurns Castle (admission € 6.00, to be paid on site; children accompanied by an adult free of charge). Experience the Pfunderer Valley on two wheels: Bike adventures with history and nature. You follow the valley trail, which takes you along rushing streams and lush meadows to Pfunders. A visit to the farm museum awaits you there, where you can immerse yourself in the traditional way of life in the region and gain exciting insights into rural life. You continue your journey and reach the idyllic hamlet of Dun. The next destination is the Boden Alm, a paradise for nature lovers. On the way there, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Pfunderer mountains. The CleanUP Days South Tyrol are a joint initiative in support of nature and environmental protection. From September 18 to 21, 2025, dedicated people all over South Tyrol will remove refuse from nature, helping to preserve a clean and unspoiled landscape.

CLEANUP KITS

To help with litter collection, a free CleanUP Kit is provided, consisting of a rubbish bag and a durable stainless-steel litter picker. The kit can be picked up at one of the designated collection points.

THE CLEANUP MAP

With the CleanUP Map, participants can enter their own collection routes, choose from existing ones, and document their activities. This makes it visible how many people are taking part and where collections have already been done. Simply scan the QR code to access the CleanUP Map.

In the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday area, four large wooden boxes serve as both kit pick-up points and litter drop-off points. In addition, several mountain huts accept collected waste, so you don’t have to carry it back to your starting point.

On the occasion of the Euregio Museum Year 2025, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Tyrolean Peasants’ Revolt of 1525 – a historic turning point that continues to raise essential questions about power structures, social justice, political participation, and the potential for societal change – the Hofburg Bressanone presents a two-part exhibition project that sets history and the present in a dialogical relationship. The two exhibitions, 1525-2025. Irruption-Subversion-Renewal (29 March – 31 August 2025) and ETÀ, ÉTATS (12 September 2025 – 11 January 2026), explore the theme of societal transformation from different perspectives. They share a central conceptual motif: rupture as a starting point for movement, encounter, and new forms of social thinking. ETÀ, ÉTATS links the father-son relationship between Robert and Johannes Bosisio to the socially relevant question of intergenerational dialogue. In the spatial and conceptual design, the two artists meet in the center of the exhibition area, while their independent positions are situated at opposite ends of the sequence of rooms. At this central point of encounter, the focus is less on comparison and more on exchange: a dialogical coexistence aimed at connecting different experiences, ways of thinking, and perspectives.

We start directly in Brixen – pedaling our way to the valley station of the Plose cable car. The Plose gondola takes us comfortably up to 2,023 meters, but from there on, it gets sporty: A scenic ride to the Pfannspitzhütte awaits us, with a challenging climb just before the hut. We will stop here - the CAI Hut is currently closed for renovation. Well-rested, we continue to the CAI Hut, the entry point to the legendary downhill route CAIDOM. Once upon a time, this was where the world’s best freeriders raced into the valley – today, it’s our personal playground. What follows is a true trail adventure: technical challenges, flowy lines, and plenty of variety. Spectacular panoramas, untouched nature, charming alpine huts, your bike – and you. Sounds like a pretty perfect vacation day, doesn’t it? This e-MTB tour in the Dolomite Valley of Villnöss starts in the village of St. Peter/Pizack, heading toward St. Magdalena. From there, a gentle uphill ride takes us to rustic alpine huts nestled at the foot of the Villnösser Geisler Peaks – one of the most stunning spots in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites – where we stop for a cozy break. When autumn begins in the southern Valle Isarco/Eisacktal, it starts also the so-called Törggele-season. Chiusa/Klausen celebrates the beginning of this ancient tradition with a big festival. From 19th September to 21st September, the artist's city Chiusa dedicates itself entirely to the traditions of the "Törggelen" and transforms itself into some kind of outdoor tavern. Through the streets of the town, gastronomic stands offer various South Tyrolean specialties, such as Knödel, Schlutzkrapfen, sausages with sauerkraut (fermented cabbage), doughnuts, Strauben and roasted chestnuts. A rich selection of white wines from the Valle Isarco completes the culinary offer. The festival has also a colourful entertainment program and a lot of popular music. The wheel isn't being reinvented, but starting on June 27, every Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., everyone can get their own bike back in shape. In a relaxed atmosphere, with tools and spare parts from “Bici's by REX,” you can repair and maintain your bike yourself. Experts are on hand to provide assistance and advice.

The tour takes you through Schabs and Neustift to the bishop's city of Brixen. There, you'll explore the cathedral square and the historic old town. Afterwards, you'll cycle past vineyards to a traditional Törggelen establishment. Look forward to hearty local specialties and the typical Törggelen atmosphere. On this approx. 12 km tour, children aged 8 to 11 get to explore the world of e-biking in a fun and playful way. This farm tour is a great opportunity to explore rural life in South Tyrol and learn all about the animals living on the farm. Discover the Baroque cloister garden at Novacella Monastery. A place of tranquility, shaped over centuries. The cloister garden at Novacella Monastery is one of the most significant historical gardens in South Tyrol. After its faithful restoration in 2004, it is divided into three areas: a tree garden with a pavilion, a herb garden with around 75 medicinal and aromatic plants, and a Baroque ornamental garden with fountains, a bird chapel, and a historic fish pond. To this day, the canons find rest between ancient ginkgo trees and a giant sequoia – and you, too, can experience monastic peace here amidst nature and enjoy a moment of reflection. Embark on a culinary journey through South Tyrol and sample speck, wine, schnapps, cheese and much more in the rustic cellar of the old Oberweitzhof.

“Regenerated in Hope” is the title of the jubilee initiative that unites the 15 dioceses of Triveneto in a common journey to promote ecclesiastical cultural heritage and the bond between these places and their communities. The diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone is participating in the project with an exhibition in the chapel of St. John in the cloister of Bressanone Cathedral. The chapel, built in the 10th century and part of the cloister of Bressanone Cathedral, contains a baptismal font, which attests to its function as a baptistery, and displays examples of the ecclesiastical heritage of reference: sacred artworks from the Diocesan Museum; ancient documents and a register of baptisms from the Diocesan Historical Archive and the Parish Archive of Bressanone; sacramental books from the Major Seminary Library, special paper supports for the free transcription of visitors' names.

The combined guided tours of the entire museum and the cathedral complex (cathedral, cloister and baptistery) take place alternately in German and Italian from Tuesday to Friday (except on public holidays). Europe’s largest monastery complex in Tirol/Tirolo. Founded in 1142 by the Bishop of Brixen/Bressanone at the intersection of two important routes - the Brenner and the route to the Pustertal valley - the Augustinian Neustift Canons Regular Monastery was recognized, among other things, as a hospice and rest area for pilgrims. Today the Monastery makes a name for itself as a place of agriculture, culture and education. From the monastery winery to the herb garden, from the electricity plant to the educational center, several businesses are united in the monastery. The Augustinian Neustift Canons Regular Monastery in Vahrn/Varna is the largest Monastery complex in Tirol/Tirolo. The Monastery has an holistic conception and was independent and versatile from its very foundation. A walk through the Monastery complex will let you understand its size and importance as a former important cultural and economic hub of the Eisacktal/Valle Isarco valley. The first thing that will catch your eye are the architectural elements: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. With the Engelsburg, the late Baroque collegiate church, the Gothic cloister, the miracle fountain, the library’s unique manuscripts and the historic Pinakothek, the Augustinian Neustift Canons Regular Monastery is one of the most remarkable sights of the Eisacktal valley.
