The Conturines cave, discovered in 1987, is 200 metres long and located at 2750 metres above sea level. The bones of a previously unknown species of bear - Ursus ladinicus - were found in the cave. It is the highest find in the world. To reach this fascinating place, you have to climb one thousand metres of altitude difference, some of it on steep scree, but the sight is well worth it. Walking along the most frequented paths of Alta Badia, Alessia encourages collecting the waste left by the careless, all the while sharing curious anecdotes, prompting reflection and awareness. The experience wraps up in a convivial and relaxing moment: a picnic at the base of the Pisciadú waterfalls. Alessia takes care of the organization, and as a memento of the experience and a thank-you for the commitment to the environment, each guest receives an eco-friendly box designed to reduce the use of packaging during mountain snacks. Over the course of three weeks, the Dolomites become the stage for a series of original, authentic experiences, led by those who know and love this land. Each week features three distinct activities, each set at a different altitude. The journey begins in the valley and lower mountain forests, along peaceful trails surrounded by rich, vibrant woodlands. It continues through the mid-mountain zone, across alpine pastures and meadows, where natural parks and the biodiversity of the alpine enviroment reveal themselves. Finally, the experience reaches the mountain heights, with panoramic treks along ridgelines and breathtaking views from spectacular summits. Each weekly itinerary culminates in a special culinary event at a mountain hut where regional products from each altitude zone take center stage—enhanced by tastings and exclusive experiences.

This year we celebrate the very first edition of the Bread Festival, an event dedicated to one of the simplest and most treasured foods of our tradition. The event will be hosted by the local mountain huts and businesses of La Crusc / Santa Croce. In the days leading up to the festival, there will be special moments. The festival day itself on Sunday will culminate in a joyful celebration with typical dishes, music, encounters and workshops for both children and adults, all centered around bread and the traditions that surround it. A warm and inclusive event, open to all – a moment to reconnect with the land, with craftsmanship, and with each other. No registration is needed, and there’s no set starting point—just follow the route counterclockwise and enjoy the experience. The traffic-free roads around the Sella Group offer a unique thrill: cycling in the peaceful embrace of the Dolomites. The tour covers 53 km with a total elevation gain of 1,600 meters, but everyone is free to set their own pace, take breaks, or stop at any time. The magnificent woodlands of Alta Badia were deeply affected by the Vaia storm in 2018, which toppled countless trees across the mountains. Since then, the bark beetle—a pest that targets spruce trees—has spread rapidly, increasing tree mortality by up to 200% in some Alpine areas. September 14 will be a day of unity and action. Together with local residents, visitors, businesses, and nature enthusiasts, we will plant new trees with WOWnature to help restore and regenerate these forests. Thanks to the support of people like you, thousands of trees have already been planted. But our work is not finished. With WOWnature, we aim to continue for as long as the mountains need us and as long as people and companies are willing to contribute. We will plant not only spruces, but also birches, alders, larches, and other broadleaf species to help create a more diverse and resilient ecosystem—better able to withstand pests, disease, and climate change. At Lé hut, a fine selection of mountain wines from South Tyrol awaits you – crafted by around ten small wineries. These wines mature under the influence of sunny days, cool nights, and a harmonious balance of soil, climate, and artisanal skill. Each sip tells the authentic story of the mountains. Led by Igi, we follow a quiet trail winding through woods and meadows, until we reach the small pilgrimage church of Santa Croce. A place steeped in spirituality and memory, where tradition, nature, and peace come together at the foot of the Dolomites.

The Dolomites Medium Delicious Trail is a foot race along the paths of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, about 35 km with 1,900 metres of positive difference in altitude, starting from the centre of La Villa in front of the tourist office. Maximum time: 9 hours. From the centre of La Villa, the route follows for a stretch the Path of the Artists and leads to San Cassiano. There begins the ascent along the Altin ski run to the iconic Gran Risa and Piz La Villa, crosses the Armentarola area and the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. From there, the path takes the runners up to Mt. Lagazuoi at an altitude of 2,778 m, followed by the descent to the finish line at Pocol, for a total of around 35 km and 1.900 metres of elevation gain: pure pleasure! There are wonderful refreshment points along the Alta Badia route, which have been set up by Team Delicious, where you can take a break and enjoy quality products and local specialities. Thousands of runners, from more than twenty countries around the world, have participated in the event in recent years on the trails that witnessed the historical events of the First World War.
