The winegrowing tradition at Neustift goes back centuries. To find out what has remained of this tradition, what winegrowing in the abbey’s vineyards involves today and the philosophy on which it is based, come on a vineyard tour. We’ll not only tell you all about Neustift winegrowing but also serve you its products. The tour of the vineyards together with the following wine tasting takes about 90 minutes in all. And lasts for longer. Participation in the vineyard tour is only possible with prior registration. We would like to introduce you in the historical wine-production area Alto Adige and take you behind the scenes of Kellerei Bozen with its must-see architectural highlights. You'll visit one of our vineyards (weather permitting) before being taken through the winery to see the wine-making process. The tour includes the tasting of 7 wines, some samples of our very best award-winning wines of the available vintage. Wines availability might change during the year. Come and delve into a real-life wine experience at the bio farm Rielinger. The wine farmer will give you a tour of the vineyard, explaining the different grapes and their cultivation. After the vineyard tour you’ll hit the cellar where we show you how the wine is fermented and aged. At the end of the tour of course you may taste our in-house wines. Trostburg Castle program Trostburg Castle rises on a rocky spur above Waidbruck. It was built in the 12th century and is one of the most impressive castles in South Tyrol. Experience the Middle Ages with all your senses. The castle festival lends a fairytale feel to Bolzano's summer. The castle landscape around Bolzano invites you to stroll around and discover its treasures. Even more so on the occasion of Castelronda, when the most beautiful castles in and around Bolzano open their doors to visitors and reveal all their secrets in courtyards, dungeons and towers... Bolzano and Appiano/Eppan are the first locations involved in the initiative, with 6 castles and ruins to visit, 6 programmes and 6 unique experiences to live a dive into the past. Runkelstein Castle, the ruins of Rafenstein Castle just above Bozen, Hocheppan Castle, Boymont Castle and Trostburg Castle are brought back to life by historical re-enactments with ladies and knights. The Fascinating Vineyard: an exploration of Cortaccia Winery’s diverse vineyard sites, complete with wine tasting. The diversity of Cortaccia Winery’s vineyard sites is unique in South Tyrol. Altitudes ranging from 200 to 900 metres, southeast and southwest exposures, and soils varying from sandy-gravely to rocky to red-clay lend each wine its own individual character. Daily between 10 a.m. -4 p.m. you can visit the mountain pine oil distillery on the Barbianer Alm on the hiking trail no. 15 along the Südtiroler Himmelstour/Cieloronda. Walking time from the mountain station Schwarzseespitze at the Rittner Horn approx. 1.5 hours. Language: German & Italian. You take the cable car Rittner Horn to the Schwarzseespitze. Fresh mountain air and a wonderful panorama await you there. The hike leads over the blooming alpine meadows to the Barbianer Alm. There is the rustic mountain pine oil distillery, where the owner Meinrad Rabensteiner gives an insight into the traditional production of mountain pine and pine oil. The organic product is produced in harmony with nature, fresh needles and twig tips of the mountain pine are collected in summer and processed in a gentle way. In a fantastic mountain scenery and with the smell of mountain pines it is even easier to exhale and relax.

To the north-east of Monguelfo in the Pustertal valley, rises Welsperg Castle, which is still in good condition. Ruin Thurn is located on the opposite, wooded hill. The two castles can be explored in the form of a pretty circular hike that leads from Monguelfo along one side of the Gsieser Bach stream into the valley and on to the village of Tesido and from there back to Monguelfo.

Amidst vineyards overlooking Lake Kaltern, the Sinn family is producing organic wines since 2013. The wines are vinified in wooden and steel barrels as well as in clay amphorae. The guided tours start with a short tour of the vineyard and an explanation of the work throughout the year, follows a visit to the new wine cellar and a tasting of the wines with a snack. Performed guided tours with Max Castlunger The interactive guided tour is personally conducted by Max Castlunger. A group of people is led through the exhibition and constantly encouraged to actively participate and play together with the exhibited instruments. During this experience, important information will be provided about the materials, musical cultures, construction techniques, and playing techniques of various types of instruments. In the Planetarium South Tyrol, visitors can experience the current and unique starry sky over South Tyrol, regardless of the weather and time of day. Discover the train station! The entertainment train station at Naturno/Stava is the old train station of the Val Senales. It shows an electric train on an 800 m track, an original steam engine locomotive Waldenburg Switzerland, a tank engine locomotive, and two wagons of the Rhaetic train. The "Palazzo Alti Comandi" guided tours at the Alpine Troops Headquarters located at Piazza IV Novembre, 6 are back. The tour will show the interior of the building built in the years 1934-35 and the history of the IV Army Corps (IV Corpo d'Armata), which later became Alpine Troops Headquarters (Comando Truppe Alpine). Bees are irreplaceable in our ecosystem and agriculture. Simply put: they are necessary for the survival of us humans. As the third most important "farm" animal (after cattle and pigs), bees pollinate 80% of our crops.
